Thank you Mom for children's books

I have attached a photo of my copy of this book. My copy is from 1961 and, judging by the cover, cost $2.95. My mother gave me her copy. She read it to me when I was little. She died a few years ago. I will never replace it with a new copy, but I bought one for every newborn relative I had, so everyone has a copy of this book now.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Unreliable

One of the best books

I remember loving this book when I first discovered it, but I haven't read it in ages. I'm pleased that the Sucking Fairy (visiting favorite children's books and turning them into utter garbage that can't be the same book as before!) doesn't even come close to this book; it's just as adorable and whimsical and wonderful as ever. And she ages well - there's nothing out of date or out of place about her. Especially if you're an incorrigible pun (don't correct it), read this book. It's worth it.

Pros
  • Everything is good!
Cons
  • Almost never

Classic book enters modern times

I've always liked Norton Juster's Haunted Tollbooth. I had a printed copy of this book once. I also saw an animated film based on this book. I'm glad I now have a Kindle e-reader. I can read a book anytime, anywhere. I can also use the command "Alexa, read the phantom tollbooth" to have Alexa read it aloud. While Alexa reads this book, I can follow this Kindle e-book. The text and illustrations in this e-book are exactly the same as in the printed version. There is also a video on YouTube known

Pros
  • Enjoyable

My favorite so far.: Children's books

My first love. And honestly, if you were to ask what my favorite book is if I didn't stop to censor myself and pick a different, more "age-appropriate" selection, that would still be my answer. If you're looking for a philosophy fit for a young man's mind, that's great. If you don't mind reading a "children's book" when you're not a kid, it's still great philosophy, mythology, puns, and creative genesis. Of course, as a society, we must first learn the rules of what things mean. But once the…

Ghost Booth

What a wonderful book! Written in 1961 for children aged 9 to 12, I bought the book for my grandson after reading the author's fascinating obituary. Parents don't normally read to their children at this age, but I think this book should be read in tandem. It expands the vocabulary and lets the imagination run wild. But the culture of cartoons, game consoles and all other tablet games has discouraged children from reading for pleasure. I think it would be difficult for a child to read alone…
