Description of πŸ’‘ Enhance Your Philips Hue Lights with the Philips Hue Smart Motion Sensor (Installation-Free and Exclusive - Hue Hub Required)

Light up a room simply by walking in and control the intensity by the time of day, such as a gentle, warm nightlight to help you navigate your home at night. Battery powered, wireless, and installation free, this Hue Motion Sensor requires the Hue hub (sold separately) to work, connecting to your Hue system with control via the Philips Hue App. Place it anywhere in your home including your hallway, bathroom, kitchen, and more. Make it part of your Hue home lighting system with Hue accessories (sold separately) such as the Hue Tap or Hue Motion Sensor. Control by voice with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. Connect it with your Nest or Samsung SmartThings system. Each kit includes one Hue Motion Sensor with two AAA alkaline batteries, a magnet, screws, a manual, and a two-year warranty. Does not ship to California.

Patience is the key.

This is a great device if you want to build a truly automated, connected home. BUT I have to warn you, you have to be patient in the beginning. If you don't give it at least a week to set up, I almost guarantee you'll want to send it back. The Hue motion sensor has a lot of tweaks/adjustments, which is great, but it can be annoying to get. to where it is right for you. I have a sensor that's set to kitchen lights because I'm in and out of the kitchen when I'm cooking or cleaning, and it's nice…

Pros
  • Light up a room just by entering it and adjust the intensity according to the time of day, e.g. B. A soft, warm night light to help you find your way around your home at night.
Cons
  • boring packaging

If you have a clear idea of your ideal use case, these motion sensors are great. They are best used in places where you don't spend much time and all you will ever need is either light (evening), dark (late night) or no light at all (daytime). I have three of these in hallways where I don't need an adjustable light. I have two of these in bathrooms where you will likely need another light source (ideally a vanity light) that you can manually turn on or off as needed. I also have a sensor in the

Great addition to our Hue system

I currently use three of these in different places around the house. They are a nice addition to our Hue lighting system. Now the closet where the woman always left the light on now goes off automatically (and comes on when you enter too). The light in the hallway comes on every time someone walks in the door and goes out after a minute. I'm a big fan of them when used in the right environment. The only complaint I have is that the software limits you to two settings per day. For example, my…

You cannot use 2 sensors for the same group of lights (e.g. 3-way)

I have a long L-shaped hallway with eight doors. I placed a sensor at two strategic points to cover the entire room and both controlled the 4 ceiling lights. The two sensors do not work together at all. As I walk down the hall, the first sensor turns on the light. If I turn and stop on the other half, the second sensor never takes control of the light. When the first sensor times out, the light turns off. I could dance in front of the 2nd sensor and it would NOT turn on the light. I have to…
