A very close shave if you follow the directions and use small circular motions. For those who are used to shaving in one direction (down) with a regular razor, the difference is really noticeable as the rounded blades cut in all directions. The first two or three weeks were tough. lots of inflammation. But hold on and you will get through it. I have a 5 year old Norelco 1280x that came with the 'SensoTouch 3D' RQ12/62 shaving head. The RQ12/62's cutting blades suck from day one. It took 5-6 passes to get a decent shave.
