Great disc so far

I really like the clamshell design. And it burns discs perfectly from my laptop. I know this company has had issues with some of their external drives and their customer service is unreliable. So I hope this rating keeps five stars.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Minor issues

Works best with optical drives

I looked through several model reviews and chose this model because it turned out to be Pioneer's latest model. It worked out of the box on Windows 7 and Windows 10, no drivers to download. I have tested it with CD, DVD and Blu-ray discs played. I have BD-R M discs but haven't tested them yet. I needed to collect enough files to burn a 25GB disc. The player is fast as expected. It tends to vibrate when you run and does run on the surface when you run, but I cut out a piece of grip pad to put it

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Very Fast with DVD and Reliable with Blu-ray Discs

I have about 40 Blu-rays and all but 2 are copied very well. The hard drives themselves proved to be a problem. I read that the device was fragile so I worked very well with it and it worked very well with the two copy apps I use on it.

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • Secret

LOUD and no Cyberlink software

Drive copies CDs no other drive can. It's fast but sometimes LOUD and doesn't contain any Cyberlink software or website links.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • No assurance

Pioneer quality Good price

Found this quality Pioneer actuator at Revain for a really good price. Other sellers want more money for the same thing. This drive can play worn DVDs with special driver software that needs to be downloaded from Pioneer's website. I use Cyberlink DVD 20 to play movies. Blu-ray is good too. Sorry it doesn't play Blue Ray 4K but I don't have a 4K system anyway.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Sad hardware

Good quality BD drive works right out of the box

I wanted to watch my Blu-ray collection on my 2016 MacBook Pro 15 and bought this Pioneer BDR-XD07S from B&H. Since I use a Mac, I bought this silver XD07S optical drive model instead of the XD07B model, which is the same drive with a black cover, bundled with Windows software only. As Blu-ray playback software, I bought Blu-ray Player Pro from Macgo website. The combination works very well straight away when playing BDs. The drive has a sheet metal base and looks solid and high quality. I…

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Cheap Blu Ray Add to PC

Nice addition to an old PC with only a DVD player/burner. If I connect a USB player to the 3.0 port, I can access Blu-ray on my PC. I had to update my PC software to play Blu-rays with different DRM encoding than the old DVDs. The Pioneer player works well with old DVDs. I skip less and look for clues. A great addition as it is portable and can be moved to any PC instead of being blocked on my desktop PC.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Easy to maintain
