Pioneer CD Digital Music Player - Classic Edition Review

This stereo has almost everything you need at a very reasonable price. The interface is a bit complicated and I had to read the instructions a couple of times. Get it with a wire harness adapter and mounting kit and you're done.

Had a cheaper Pioneer radio that was aux only thought that was all I needed until the aux connection broke internally. I don't have a soldering kit and don't feel like buying one to maybe fix a $30 stereo, so I bought this one. I hooked it up to my old wiring harness (Pioneer adapter) and everything worked fine. The sound quality is great, the bluetooth connection is flawless and I love how it works with Spotify to remember what song I've been listening to.

I decided to put it in a Cabrio Wrangler instead of more expensive stereos because it's easy to hack. To my surprise, this radio is great. The lighting is good, the radio signal is excellent (better than the stock radio) and it has enough outputs to connect an amplifier. The only downside is that it's not as powerful as some other radios. which is not a disadvantage for the price. Works very well! The ARC app is pretty clunky so I stopped using it pretty quickly. Connect the front and rear speakers, amplifier and subwoofer. Wires connected easily and it sounds GREAT! Excellent device! I've paired it with decent foosball speakers and the sound is really clear! No fluff and good sound control. It pairs quickly and handles the phone well. The only complaint is that I have an Android and it comes with Apple Car Play. When the iPhone is in the car, it will connect automatically at first. As other reviews have mentioned, the Bluetooth connection can be intermittent. Eventually it stopped connecting to my phone and I had to factory reset it to get it to recognize my phone again. The display is also absolute rubbish and cannot be seen in daylight. Worst of all, it stopped working in my car after less than 4 months. While I'm not 100% thrilled with this head unit, it does the job. The display is incredibly dark no matter what color you choose. I haven't really tried the CD player, but who else uses CDs. I bought this to fit my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Installation was fairly easy and I would say standard for aftermarket radios. I haven't used the manual much except to indicate the color of the wiring.
