Description of 📺 PiTFT Plus 480x320 3.5-inch TFT Touchscreen for Raspberry Pi - Pi 2 and Model A+ / B+ with Improved SEO

This PiTFT 3.5" is designed to fit nicely onto the Raspberry Pi 2 or Model A+ / B+, not compatible with original Model A and Model B. Comes fully assembled and ready to plug into your Pi! (See not below). You can also have an HDMI display separately connected.(This may be required during initial setup). Features a 3.5" display with 480x320 16-bit color pixels and a resistive touch overlay. Important Note: This product requires configuration and driver setup to work correctly on the PI and is not "plug and play". Many users report a "white" screen indicating the PI has not been configured correctly. Please see Adafruit Documentation or contact the seller if you experience this issue. Doesn't work with new Linux versions

I followed the instructions on the Adafruit website and couldn't get it to work. I also burned the image to a flash drive already configured to work with the Pi and that didn't work either. I found other websites with instructions similar to Adafruit but it still didn't work.

Pros
  • It's fun
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

Follow us for an easy PiTFT setup!

I wish I had wasted my time on the Knick off brand and gotten it from the start. The installation tutorial was easier than expected and had great instructions. I built a picture frame that always plays 2001: A Space Odyssey over our hanger. It doesn't even heat up and has been working for a week!

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • No form required

Great product, Adafruit is a safe bet.

Works pretty well with Raspberry Pi 3 B, I used Raspbian with PIXEL and followed the simple instructions on the adafruit webpage, only in the command to install a new kernel with (step 2) I used the "- y" removes " from commands and he started installing it. Some programs don't automatically adjust to the screen, so I'm trying to test the finished picture. Otherwise, HDMI still works on a TFT screen. Everything is working fine.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Updates

This keyboard has very limited product support. The cores on the site are outdated. I did sudo apt-get upgrade/update but when I reinstalled the kernel it was outdated. There . It also emits a lot of light when it's on, and when the Raspberry Pi is off, the backlight is still on. Overall, this product is limited and disappointing. Spoke to people online who had the same experience.

  • Dope 🔥
Cons

Buy a 3.5 inch HDMI display instead

This display is ridiculous. I bought this to make a nice little Kali Linux machine based on Raspberry Pi 3. The documentation on the adafruit.com link is correct but the key is wrong so adafruit cannot be used to get the required driver to install. Installing software to support this display seems to make a lot of changes to the system. Save time, effort, frustration, and headaches by simply purchasing a similar display with HDMI input. A small HDMI display costs a little more, but it's money…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Nice screen but code needs a major overhaul

The screen works fine when all the packages are downloaded and prepared for it, but you really need to use the right distribution for it; Otherwise, you'll be stuck with a tiny screen and very poor touchscreen usability. Also, the packages for it CANNOT be removed after installation. I'm not exaggerating; You have to literally erase your SD/microSD card and start over to get rid of the screen installed packages. They change so many core files after installation that they cannot be removed…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

I have them everywhere, I love them!

I really like these displays so much that I connect them to almost everything I build and not just Pis, they work on Intel based SBC up boards too. I have 10 of them working on different things. They can be operated in addition to and independently of the HDMI output, which makes them very useful and cool. If you want a regular keyboard, mouse, and monitor, you can get those but still have that little display as a status screen or clock or whatever is controlled independently by another input…

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • No
