Plantronics 209747 22 Headset Passive Reduction Review

Simple headset, ideal for the home office. I work from home and am very sensitive to sound quality. The sound is great. I leave the USB port plugged in for VoIP and I can unplug and plug it into my mobile device or tablet. On first use I couldn't figure out why there was a loud ringing sound when using my PC. You must insert the connector all the way in so that the red wire is not visible, as shown in the picture. I know this is obvious but wanted to share if you run into the same problem.

I have used this headset for multiple calls on multiple computers with different conferencing packages. The sound quality was consistently good and I haven't had any bad feedback on the sound quality from other parties. I've noticed that some apps start the mic on mute and others don't. I suspect that the problem is not with the headset. I didn't comment (or rate) on the noise cancellation as I use this headset in a quiet place all the time.

This is a great all round headset that can be used for making phone calls, listening to music, watching Youtube and works great when plugged into the PS4 headset jack controller is connected! However, after 60-90 days of use, most (4+) developed heavy static noise and a dull sound. After going through countless headphones and trying Bluetooth headphones cheaper and more expensive, I settled on this one. Plantronics has a reputation for making very expensive headsets, and they're definitely cheap. Pros: The crystal clear microphone filters out all background noise. It even helps eliminate desktop clicking and typing. The sound quality is excellent. Bass and treble are clear, and the sound is not distorted in the upper and lower parts of the volume range.
