I wasn't sure if this product would get hot enough to melt the thick plastic of my kayak but to my surprise it welded the plastic well.

Connected. Took 15 minutes. Then the lightbulb went out with a bang. Doesn't heat anymore. Return this item. Hopefully the next one actually works as advertised.

I have a MIG welder, an arc welder (ARC) and a gas welder. NOW I have a basic plastic welder and it works pretty well. I wish I knew it was that simple. I remember all the plastic items I threw in the trash that could be fixed.

The welder is very small and the tip is very tiny. It looked like a little toy. The black plastic stick just gets clumpy and doesn't stick... But the worst part was that the tip just broke off. It damaged my own item and made it a lot worse. It came with additional clues. But what use are they if I can't remove the threaded part from the welding machine? I'm sending it back! I feel like I was paid for this product. Not very durable and will collapse when you use it. BEWARE !

This welder suited me, there is no temperature setting (all the way on or off) but there are ways I think to regulate the heat. I would recommend gloves if using them as I got sloppy and burned my fingers haha it gets really hot! The repair was excellent for the first time. Shipping home in a secure box. warms up and runs perfectly. I applied just enough pressure to embed the thin screen strip into the laptop's hot plastic. followed by the use of plastic repair straws provided by the seller. I suspect you can't go wrong with a well designed plastic welding kit. all the supplies you need. was considering ordering a bracket embedding tool. but I'm glad I didn't.
