Type of review

I am a jewelry designer and have used Lindstrom tools for the last 5 years. Because the handles kept getting sticky, I chose to purchase Tronex instead. I do love the handles BUT.the tips of the chain nose pliers are damaged and bent. The thickest material I work with are my 20g stainless steel jump rings. At this point, I cannot even use them for these jobs. The pliers just cannot grip them properly. I use a thumb jump ring tool and the rings slip out of the pliers and they jam into my thumb…

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • The price point for these pliers is on the high side, making them less accessible to budget-conscious users

If you like nice tools you will love these

I needed some replacement piers for home electronics and thought I could get away with some inexpensive ones. What I got was the chance to re-learn that once you have used really good tools your spoiled for life. I was familiar with the top flight european brands but not the American made Tronex but I'm very glad to have discovered them. I have large hands and this version with the ergonomic = longer handles is a real plus for me. Some small pliers are really hard to hold but not these ones…

Pros
  • Exceptionally fine tips, each is .050" X .030"
Cons
  • The craftsmanship of these pliers can vary, with some users reporting uneven or poorly cut edges on the jaws

Finest precision tools you can buy

These are some of the finest precision tools you can buy. They meet or beat pretty much everything on the market including Lindstrom, Schmitz, Swanstrom, IdealTek, etc. I have used all of these and the Tronex ones are by far the highest quality. They are true precision tools, finely ground to very tight tolerances, with excellent feedback.

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • The long handles may make the pliers difficult to maneuver in tight spaces

Disappointed: my feedback

I bought several of the Tronex pliers because I was happy to see that they were made in the USA, and had decent reviews. With the cost of these, you would expect high quality.I agree with the other reviewers about the comfort of these pliers, as they are great in that regard. However, after only 1 month of use,my chainnose pliers broke at the rivet. I called the company and they told me to ship them back and they'd look at them. They determined that I used themto bend too heavy of a wire, and…

Pros
  • Recommended gauge usage: 16 gauge and finer Tips: 18 gauge and finer. (never use memory wire)
Cons
  • The pliers may require a break-in period to function smoothly, leading some users to experience frustration until they become accustomed to them

Awesome pliers!: my feedback

Fantastic - they are very precise, and the finishing on the jaws really makes a difference in not marking soft wire. The longer grip is very comfortable for me - my hands are on the bigger side and small handles dig in to my palms and become uncomfortable. Highly recommended, worth every penny!

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • The pliers may not grip as tightly as some users would like, leading to frustration when trying to manipulate small objects

Outstanding pliers for Fine Gauge Wire

Love these jewelry pliers. Very well made, super comfortable cushioned handle, nice tension, nice weight and a great tip. I would recommend using with 18 gauge wire and above. I used these for wire work with 16 gauge wire and bent the tip. I bent it back but am now very careful to only use with smaller gauge wire.

Pros
  • they feel great in the hand
Cons
  • The chain nose design of these pliers may not be suitable for all types of work, limiting their versatility

Best Tools good for me

These are the best tools I've ever had in all my years of wire wrapping. The company is also great and will refurbish them for $10 after use. My hands sometimes hurt and these are the most comfortable I've found.

Pros
  • Extremely happy with Pliers true quality.
Cons
  • The smooth jaw can slip when attempting to grip objects, making it difficult to hold onto them securely
