Speeded up an old laptop

This was in a Dell Inspiron laptop and really improved performance over the original mechanical hard drive, not to mention it was a lot quieter and probably gave us a little more battery life has also procured life.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Can't remember

Great price and works well

Doesn't work with my old laptop, doesn't recognize it, it's a 7th gen board for Asus Pro if that matters. I ended up replacing it with my gaming PC after verifying that it worked. Works great with my 10th gen PC board but not on my laptop. Still seems to have great speed.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Some bugs

Amazing Value!: Storage

Ideal for upgrading to an M.2 SSD. Fast, cheap and high quality. A little difficult to detach from plastic. I was very afraid of breaking it trying to get it out of the box. Too bad it's not standard with these things that a spare screw is included for the price. No matter how cheap they are, they haven't dropped in price much lately.

Pros
  • Rugged Construction
Cons
  • A Few Small Details

Good value for data storage

I've been using PNY products for a few years now and find them very good value compared to bigger name products that offer slightly better performance significantly higher price. The computers I upgraded were never "powerful" machines, so I didn't have to rebuild them. However, I noticed that the access speed has increased, and in general I am quite satisfied.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Great NVME for the price.

Installed to add another game drive that was faster than my SATA SSDs. So far it works great. Added drive letter and label to disk management and it worked. Everything has slightly faster boot times than SSD drives and ridiculously faster load times than HD drives. GTA5 was on HD and it took about 3 minutes to load. Now it's about 45 seconds. I can't wait for the size and cost to increase so I can upgrade to 2TB or higher.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Can I add something?

Write speed drops to 300MB after threshold

This review is for PNY CS1030 1TB. First of all, the actual space of this drive after formatting to NTFS is 931.5GB. I have 2 other NVME 1TB hard drives. One has the same capacity, the other is larger, around 954GB. I've added a synthetic snapshot of the speed of the crystal disc. It means nothing as we all know. The actual drive speed on my system (Windows 10) was: If you copy large amounts of data to it from another (significantly faster) NVME drive, the speed goes from 1.1 GB/s to 1.6 GB/s…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons

Fits my MacBook Air 2015!

I bought this along with an adapter from Sintech to work with my Macbook Air. Yes, these regular nvme SSDs will work in a MacBook as long as the year is correct. My original SSD had a write speed of 900MB/s and a read speed of 1300MB/s. This new SSD gives me about 1300 writes and reads. I didn't buy this SSD because it was very fast. My MacBook is older and based on the forums I've read I've decided it's not worth buying a super fast SSD as I can't take advantage of the high speeds. I'm not…

I wanted something of value [CAUTION]

For the price you would think that the screws and fasteners absolutely necessary for assembly are included. You are wrong. 4 small pieces of equipment cost about 10 cents. It doesn't come pre-installed on my computer and isn't just lying around. But it's not in the bag it comes in (which really should be at least an electrostatic bag, if not a foam-lined box). It's not annoyingly difficult to open the small box. It is not glued to the back of the sleeve. If you don't have this equipment handy…

  • practical item
