Great for Macaws: Cages and Accessories

I use this to hang my macaw in the middle of the room. The diameter of the perch is large enough for each bird. The bow can be just a little small for the largest macaws. If your bird wants to get on the swing, they definitely can! My bird loves to play with a tied rope. Good buy.

No! for X-Large Macaws

First, the attachment that holds the swing is tiny, like a Perokeet toy, the sandpaper on the standing bar is also very fragile and not for Ar! I ordered 6 and one came with cracks and the other with chipped sandpaper. When I returned them I asked for larger mounting rings but my request was never answered so I had to buy larger bits myself. The bottom line is that it could have been a great macaw swing, but it's designed for a perrocket!

Remove the bead from the hook.

My blue and gold Polly rocked for about 11 years before she broke. She likes the strength of the plastic side panels to hold on to. This gets 4 stars because the swing unscrewed itself and my bird fell to the bottom of his cage on the first day. Remove the bead (it's too big) that comes with the kit or your bird's weight will unscrew the hook as it rotates. As an extra precaution, I bought a double swivel hook just to be safe.
