Really very good

I like the thing. It's very powerful, barely noisy (quieter than the ventilation systems so you won't hear it anyway) and the accuracy of both the slew control and the probe is fascinating. fried? Oil well control. scalds? It can keep the pot temperature at 486 all the time and flash higher when heating initially. Boiling water? 2 minutes, easy. If I could take just one from home in an emergency (THIS IS AN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT) it would be because: Own (cheater)

Excellent chef top.but!

This is a great kitchen tool for avid home cooks. (Too many kills I'm sure, but that's pretty impressive!) Very expensive, very accurate, amazing what you can do with it. But it needs a much weaker pan detection spring, many of my lighter pans just aren't heavy enough to activate. And they should offer a much longer temperature sensor than the one that comes with the kit. But no matter how expensive this device is, their tech support is lacking. I have emailed twice over the course of several…

Excellent temperature control

I bought this primarily to roast food in my garden. Yes I know. But I love fried chicken and this spring/summer I started searching for the perfect recipe and method. Temperature control: In 67 degree weather, the oil temperature was brought from 67 to 350 degrees outside in 9 minutes. slightly recovered and held at 325 degrees (my pick) after tossing the chicken. Great portion of fried chicken. con? It's expensive, but for my purposes and compared to other induction cookers, it easily meets my

Finally there is an induction hob that keeps it cooking!

This item is pricey, but it's the only induction burner I've found that offers enough control to adjust the cooking to the level you want. For example, when I cook oatmeal (30 minutes), I don't have to constantly stand over the pot and adjust the induction power. I can go and feel safe because I won't find a mess when I come back to interfere. However, I have another commercial induction burner that has 100 levels (say 10F per level) that is great for anything that doesn't require such precise…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Durable

I like the precise temperature control, good construction, induction heating. I like it, I use it every day. What I don't like: 1) Rubber ball for attaching the temperature sensor to the tank wall. Some of the curved pot lids I plan to use were difficult to install, sometimes even with slowly lifting the probe while looking away. Difficult to use and set up. I ended up replacing it with a lab stand and clamp. 2) You will inevitably have splashes and spills. There is a groove or seam around the…

The only hob I have

When I moved into my first house I realized I wanted induction, not gas or electric. While contemplating getting a four-burner induction cooktop, I've craved Control Freak's level of control for so long that I've decided to buy just one burner, fully expecting the sacrifices one burner would make would expect stove top. I'm surprised to say that's not the case at all. It takes so little time to boil water and heat food to the right temperature, so it's not difficult to quickly cook multiple…

Never Before - Bench Burner

This appliance has completely changed the way I cook. The impossible became easy. I started to see the difference in a grade C. The first discovery was the temperature of transformation of albumen and yolk. The collagen to gelatin conversion temperature was the second. Holding Turkish Delight at 114ºC for an hour without supervision, preparing dozens of pancakes with the same browning and perfect texture became a chore, reducing stocks at 90ºC for several hours allowed us to achieve maximum…

This is an excellent investment.

There is a big difference between a cheaper product like an induction cooker and this one. Although cheaper induction cookers have good and bad sides. This will be my first. I did extensive research because so many of the induction cookers I researched had so many problems. One is that the induction cooker gets too hot and the portable cooker doesn't last too long. So I went with it because I love Breville as a brand. Since I have several of their products. This is the last and last. The only…
