It's smaller than I expected but also heavier and more stable. There isn't much room for the bottom clamp to work, but it's designed to be mounted on a desk or desk anyway, so I'm giving it 5 stars for what it can do for the money. Of course there is no rotation, but it does not move or slip after a tight clamp. There are no rubber plugs on the vise, think "solid painted metal". You could probably kill someone with it if you drop it, so watch your toes when you drop it. My grip was sticking out

Wow, serious little truck for the price.

I was very surprised at the high quality of this little vise when I received it. It has two guides and runs smoothly. Of course, they don't replace a larger stationary vise for heavier work, but they easily exceeded my expectations for a small, cheap, temporary vise. Very happy with this purchase. If you want to be picky it would be nice if the clamping surfaces were grooved rather than smooth and the bottom clamp that attaches the vise to the table is significantly less durable than the vise…

Nice little criticism.

On the plus side, the vise is all metal (no cheap plastic parts) and clamps to a table, trestle or other surface. The jaws are smooth, and while other reviewers complained of a weak grip, I found it held my metal bars, wood, and other objects quite well. On the other hand, the pin used in one of the bars rubs against the body of the vise. when opening the jaws. Opening the mouth isn't difficult, just a little annoying. The lips close gently. As the description says, this is a lightweight vise…

Deceptive Appearance

For some reason these vices appear larger in the photo. The product description does not mention the most important feature, which is the width of the jaws. They are 3 inches wide so now you know how small the product really is. Also, the jaws look jagged in the photo because they are not colored. In reality, however, the cheeks are perfectly smooth on the inside and colored orange like the rest of the article. Luckily, it's well suited to the specific purpose I've set for it. The clamp is…

I was looking for a cheap vice for new golf grips. I looked on ebay and revain for many others and finally settled on this one due to the low price and free shipping. I put my golf grips on my irons today and this vise worked great. You will also need to purchase a rubber shank retainer that will encircle the shank when clamped. I mounted this vise on my kitchen table and used 2 pieces of cut bike tubing to protect the top and bottom when I kept this vise on my table. The rubber also acted as a

Excellent for the money and for its intended purpose

This is a lightweight machine and you should plan to use it that way. My current house is too small to have a separate workshop, despite all the work I do with guns and other things. I got this to mount to a kitchen counter for an AR build. It's not as good as having a dedicated spot for a medium-duty vise, but it worked as expected. I have two complaints about the depth of the vise and the material of the clamping surface. When the vise is open you don't have enough depth for some needs. The…
