🔒 POP & LOCK Power Tailgate Lock & T-Harness: Heavy Duty, Plug and Play Solution Review

Easy installation. The tailgate now locks and opens whenever the doors are locked. The kit simplifies the work and the cable is long enough for Tacoma Double Cab 6ft Body (3rd generation).

Using the complete plug and play kit made the installation really easy. The product itself is great, but the wiring harness makes it so much easier. I waited to install the tonneau cover before receiving it. Combining this product with the bodywork has greatly improved my truck's usability.

Once installed it works great. I didn't have to dig that deep under the rug. ('21 DCLB TRD O/R) The included zip ties are a nice touch.

Nice and easy to install. I'd like to hook it up on the passenger side instead of the driver's side so it only unlocks when I open the whole car, but for some reason that didn't work. It's a bit noisy when unlocking, but it works great and it's a lot easier than fiddling with a key. All in all absolutely worth it.

Installed yesterday, took about 3 hours as I'm not that mechanically inclined. The longest part was tying the wire under the truck and pushing the wire into the truck. After connecting everything worked very well. It's weird that Toyota doesn't put them on all of its trucks. If you ever want to use your key to lock/unlock manually, you can still do so. Modifications must be made to prevent tailgate theft.

The screw entry works very well but I say but the dose doesn't work with the 2021 Tacoma. Volt meter and poking around to find the correct wires in the same connector looks like Toyota moves them on purpose, I think they got stuck on poplock kits or something, I hope poplock comes with an updated harness soon. - Come and play for my 2021 truck. I think it works with 2020-2016 plugin and plays but not 2021 unless you know how to check its good stuff.

It makes locking too easy! First, it helps prevent your expensive tailgate from blowing away, because yes. It happens! I installed a nice hardcover trunk on my TRD and it really completes this security package without having to pull that weird little key out of the trunk. fob.Install was fairly easy, although it took some effort and time to properly route the cable forward, under the truck, and into the cab to connect inside the driver's desk.
