The neck for connecting objects to this blast gate is too short. And the price is too high, I bought an analogue from another manufacturer. The same at half price. Too late to return it, but at least I can explain why I wouldn't buy it again.

That's great. I bought a couple of these for a PVS air filtration system I installed in my garage. Seeing their quality I immediately ordered a few more to replace the plastic I had installed under my island workbench. It feels like they will last a long time.

I did a lot of research before buying. Firstly, I had no trouble connecting the hose to the gate as some have mentioned. Every time I pushed against the gate, it held tight. What I didn't like is that the gate has an opening (loss of vacuum) when the gate is opened. I think I should have figured it out, and it's probably the same for all "self-cleaning" gates. I like one of the ideas posted about using thread sealant on bolt threads to save time. I bought 6 and would buy again.

Like most DC blast gates, they are custom sized for use with PVC so you will need to adjust them to fit. It's ok since nothing works with PVC. The biggest problem is that they expire. Open or closed, you can hear air flowing through the gap between the gate and gate body. I don't know exactly how many losses, but they're pretty significant. I would definitely not recommend them, nor would I buy them again. But I'm not going to disassemble my air ducts to replace them, if that tells you…

Attached to two 4" fittings on my Jet Dust Collector with POWERTEC 70149 Dust Control Flex with 4" hose clamps. Secure connection to fittings and flexible hose with good clamps. They have an open bottom (see photo) and do not need to be cleaned. They are very durable and near perfect. Unfortunately, no instructions are included with the gate, but there are a few important points when installing these gates: First, the gate can lock the gate in the open or closed position. If you want it to slide like a plastic gate, adjust the handle to slide briefly over the slider. This keeps the gate open or closed and you don't have to open or tighten the handle every time. Note…
