The most helpful thing I've bought for my broken ankle rehab

This thing is the jam. I broke my ankle and was in a cast for 6 weeks. slowly getting it functional again. My physical therapist has me do lots of balancing activities on this thing during my visits, and I decided I wanted to them at home as well. BEST IDEA. This thing is speeding up my recovery tons. I use it every morning when I first wake up while watching TV or listening to some music. Calf raises on this thing feel SO good, also balancing on each foot is a lot harder than you would think…

Pros
  • Great exercise mat
Cons
  • Can take up extra space in a workout area

Best balance pad - my new review

I broke my ankle months ago and my physical therapy at a rehab center ended recently and my PT suggested I invest in one of these for home therapy to help with balance. I went with this one because it is the best and I need it to hold up a long time. The rehab center I went to has this brand and theirs gets way more use daily. It is very stable and sturdy. This one isn’t going to flatten in a couple of weeks like some of the reviews say for the cheap ones. You get what you pay for. If you want…

Pros
  • Great for practicing balance exercises.
Cons
  • May not provide enough cushioning for high-impact exercises

Expensive yes, but in this case, you get what you paid for.

As a physical therapist, there really is no substitute for an Airex Pad. I originally ordered one of the many cheaper, generic foam pads thinking I'd save a few bucks, only to be royally disappointed in the actual quality/"feel" of the pad.it's just not the same. That being said, for some, I would imagine that it wouldn't matter too much, but for myself, having worked with an official airex for so many years, it's hard to accept something that seems to pale in comparison (e.g. feel…

Pros
  • Durable and long-lasting
Cons
  • May not provide enough support for certain physical therapy exercises

This is a great product for balance and helping with rising from a chair. Can be used as a tool to help push off from a seated position from a chair. Very stable, it also can add support if placed on a chair seat.

Pros

  • Not recommended for individuals over a certain age

The Airex Balance Pad Elite is Perfect for Standing Desks

Sometimes you are barefoot and don’t want to walk on your treadmill desk. Standing at a desk all day can be hell on your knees and feet. There’s a solution to this.Thank God for Mark and Frank telling me about this amazing lime green Airex Balance Pad Elite.Airex Balance Pad is Elite when it has this pattern on it.I don’t know if the $30 difference in price is worth it but I got a factory reject for the same price as the regular one. There are also lots of $12 knockoffs that I’m sure are just as

Pros
  • I did not like the color choice option.SAME BANG!! LESS BUCKS
Cons
  • Not recommended for individuals over a certain weight limit

Different Dimensions

The sturdiness and durability of this pad does not match what I experienced at my physical therapists center (same brand) but it is reasonably durable. I gave just 3 stars for this product because the dimensions of 19.6 x 16 in the advertisement do not match what I received. I received 18 x 15. The customer service people I was exchanging emails with at Airex would not provide an explanation for the difference between advertised dimensions and the actual that I received. They did, however…

Pros
  • Works as advertised. Very high quality.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals with anxiety or fear of falling

Very good quality best in my review

It's not too sturdy like some other pads I've used. I put it under sinks to lay on when plumbing and it helps cushion the shoulders and back, yet it's just the same as the one's at the gym I've used for training.

Pros
  • Great tool for personal training-stability training
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean

Good and lasting quality

I was diagnosed with a balance disorder recently. My husband had his own Airex balance pad which I had used in the past but I don't like sharing so purchased my own. I did notice that the measurements are notquite the same as the ad or the one we already have. This pad is 18 X 14 3/4 by 2 plus inches. So a little smaller.

Pros
  • Great not too hard not to soft
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals with balance issues

Save time with this Airex product

The same one as in the PT room. This Airex product I bought because the therapy place room used it with me. I made sure that Airex was the listed p product. It came in an Airex box. No smell at all, as other reviewers mentioned when they received their order. I use it not just for balance, but for sitting as well. It helped by sitting on it to maintain the 90deg hip precaution. After a year of trying other products and spending more money over the course of that time, then returning them, the…

Pros
  • Enhanced balance and stability: The Premium Non-Slip Balance Pad provides a stable surface for balance training and rehabilitation exercises, helping to improve overall balance and stability

I love this pad, I use it all of the time

This pad is handy for all sorts of uses. I bought it to help me do physical therapy for my 2 sprained ankles, it has a great 'response' to my ankle's every move. I am also overweight, so I often use it to help me to get on the floor to play with my cat.

Pros
  • ‎Adult
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals with dizzy spells

Very comfortable good for me

The stability pad arrived on time and in perfect condition. To be honest I’m not sure why they call it a stability pad because it did not challenge my stability at all, but it is fantastic for my knees when I do any exercises or stretching that require me to be on my knees. It was also helpful and comfortable for my hands and forearms when doing different types of planks. I really do love it.

Pros
  • ‎30-1908
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals with chronic pain

Great for physical therapy, balance and stability exercies

This is an excellent pad when working out to build leg strength, stability and balance. After a leg injury I was advised by my PT to work on regaining stability and balance by standing on one leg for 30 seconds and then alternating. The Airex pad helped tremendously with these exercises. I also use the pad for exercises and yoga positions requiring kneeling. I highly recommend this product.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • Can be disorienting for some users

stability (or lack therof.) is perfect

Will be a great boost to my home gym and especially ankle and leg strengthening, in addition to its 'intended' use at my standing desk. There are cheaper brands but Airex came highly recommended. I do wish I could find a PDF of the included (and very helpful) workout chart but perhaps I'll find that in time :) The PDF that's here on the revain listing is good, but has a different set of exercises.

Pros
  • ‎38.58 x 16.14 x 2.36 inches
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals with certain prosthetics

PTA Knows Best good for me

I am a Physical Therapist Assistant by trade and utilize the Airex all the time to promote improved balance and muscle coordination both at work and at home. I had to have a surgery to my right leg recently and ordered my own Airex for rehabilitation purposes at home. I decided to order the smaller two as I can utilize them more in different ways to challenge myself further as I recover, including standing heel to toe in tandem stance. I can also utilize them as two during core exercises for…

Pros
  • Non-slip surface: With its non-slip surface, this balance pad provides excellent traction, ensuring safe and secure footing during use.
Cons
  • Not recommended for individuals with certain autoimmune conditions

I think this item was used

It works as expected, but there are stains on the pad. It came in an original box, there was no plastic bag around it. I suspect it was a return or demo unit. I bought it at a serious discount, so I guess I get what I pay for.

Pros
  • Helpful for balance improvement
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions
