Poor design makes the lock unreliable, especially with slightly different door designs

I don't understand why this product has such a high rating. I've ordered three of these and they're all poorly constructed, where the 'drop point' on the hinge - the part where the lock's deadbolt actually falls down to latch - is too shallow (especially if you flip it over for a door to open ). Arrived damaged - no support

11/30/2019: Ordered a second one as they are cheap. I thought I couldn't get another spoiled one. I mean how can you mix up two pieces of metal? Well, THIS IS NOT FUNCTIONAL. The same thing. Spend a few bucks more for something that works

We got it so the kid doesn't run away from home. Took about an hour to install as the screws are soft metal and fell off right away so the screwdriver couldn't tighten them. So I looked through other products before settling on this simple solution which ended up being the only one that suited our needs. The goal was to keep our 3 year old in our home.
