Build quality is good. The holes didn't fit me. I tried 2 hours. I drilled holes in my door, tapped the handle to screw it in and finally, after a while, I installed it. I then tried to use the key provided but it wouldn't lock securely. Defeated, I took everything off and put it back on the old handle. The only reason I got this was a key lock so we had a back door as well. I really wanted this thing to work as it's very difficult to find patio doors with a key lock.

So the inside handle has 3 places for an inside lock depending on your configuration. Well, 2 out of 3 is useless because if your knobs aren't aligned to the ONLY configuration where 2 screws fit together, it's useless. This only applies if you are using a key/tumbler. That's the only reason I bought these! I installed a dozen of these things and this was the most frustrating. Had to throw away the key and use the keyless pen which luckily came with the kit (I wonder why lol)

So the thing corresponded almost completely to the description and my expectations. This is a well made cast metal, beautifully finished. This is a pretty standard patio door handle, there's really nothing special about it. The imaginary sixth star is because I've been searching here for a long time for a key that uses a Kwikset key slot so I can lock it like the other doors in the house.
