Excellent hinge. Here are the instructions

This hinge was perfect for my hidden closet door. I built the door using good quality plywood and regular 1x4 boards glued and screwed on to keep it straight.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Good hinge, no adjustment

I bought these for a mid-century style door to our hall closet. The door is 44 inches wide and has a steel frame that I welded. Probably only 125 pounds for the weight of the door. They seem to be doing a great job with the door so far. I like the hinges for the price, but they don't have any adjustment options, so everything has to be perfectly positioned. In this case, this was a real problem since the bottom hinge is brick. A lot of planning and work has enabled me to get it right.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Replacement available

Great for the price

We used this axle on a small semi concealed front door for a client. We used commercial full size door hinges and they are very similar in design. It worked as we expected. It's certainly not the same quality as off-the-shelf devices, but it also costs a fraction of off-the-shelf devices. I would definitely buy them again. In terms of ease of installation, most carpenters will do, but you will definitely need some woodworking skills and tools.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Expensive

Just what I needed to get to the storm shelter from the bookshelf!

I almost bought hinges for $150 (from another supplier). I settled on these $33 hinges. The door is 7" thick (bookshelf), 4 feet high and 2 feet wide with a 1/4" back panel. The door weighs about 25 pounds and is easy to open. " at the back). It's not in the middle of the door. I think it should be installed in the middle. It swings well and doesn't sag. I'll take that into account for my next project.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • I don't remember

Excellent quality product! Complicated installation.

I was really impressed with the quality of this excellent product! I ended up returning it because it didn't suit my particular situation given the difficulty of installing the top hinge. (I'm dealing with concrete basement walls). To install it you need to make some fairly deep and defined paths to sink the top mechanism but still have some material to screw in the plate. If I had to use this loop I would first create a stencil on the existing material.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • No performance

We are glad we chose TAMBEE!

After hearing about Murphy's pivot hinges, I knew I needed this for my secret hidden bookshelves! We needed access to the pocket door hardware if it ever needed replacing, as well as the plumbing behind the shower. Tambee had great reviews so I decided to give them a try. What you should pay attention to: 1. Really strong equipment with high resilience.2. The instructions suck - fine print, measurements are in millimeters, and they're strictly for prefabricated doors, so you'll have to do a…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competition arrived

This loop is what you need.

I've always wanted to make a hidden front door to my man cave, but Murphy's ready-made doors are too expensive. I used this hinge along with some wood I had in my garage and made my own door/shelf. The photos speak for themselves. The hinge is super strong. This was built into an existing door. I used an 8" gap at the top and bottom of the shelf that I made to order for the existing hole. The opening and closing of the hinge is smooth and completely silent. I couldn't be happier with the…

Pros
  • Weight: 455 g, for doors up to 250 lbs; the bottom supports the entire weight of the door, not the hinge
Cons
  • boring packaging

Very strong and easy to install

Failed to load media. In place of our fireplace, we built an 84" x 46" bookshelf. It's quite heavy, but these loops handle it with no problem. The hardest part of the install was just drilling a trench for the top hinge, but that wasn't too bad. I'm very pleased with how well these loops work. Opening and closing the Murphy door is easy and smooth. The only thing you should pay attention to is the presence of a ball bearing in the lower hinge. Make sure it doesn't fall out during installation…

Pros
  • Allows the door to swing from a point on the floor under the center of the door rather than using hinges on the side of the door frame
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Great result/price but instructions require work

Failed to load media. I used this hinge for a hidden bookshelf and it works great but the instructions were more geared towards fitting a traditional door. I found some videos online that were helpful and I ended up making a template to figure out where in the frame to cut the side spacer hinges for the bookshelf. If you are using this product for a hidden room, a video of how to determine the hinge position given the depth of the door would be extremely helpful.

Pros
  • Allows you to use an alternative to a traditional door, be it function, design, door weight, space or style.
Cons
  • No performance
