Bought 2 to replace the old gold one and they really helped upgrade my bathroom with Jack and Jill. Both fit perfectly in the previous door and cut outs in door openings for locks and strike plates. Both successfully blocked without further configuration. I can't yet comment on how they hold steam without rusting, but they did a good job of meeting my expectations at this price point.

As a handyman I have replaced a few of these but be aware that if you are replacing a very old one you are replacing the width of the old one as I had to trim the door jam to get it flush into the opening as the original was a bit thinner - a point I didn't even consider before installing it. After installation they turned out really nice. As some reviewers have pointed out, they don't seem to be as high quality as the originals I had at home. But they were easy to install and worked well for two months. My only advice is to add some lube to the internal mechanism to make it easier to close. I had one that was very sticky and once I had it it was a lot easier to use. I went back and made them all, now they are all very smooth.

Better than the copper I replaced. The satin finish isn't as deep and looks a bit tanned in some light. The locking knob has some play and looks like it might break. I'm not saying it will, but it's not hard and tight. Luckily we just close the door and don't lock the door. If you plan on locking the door I would suggest buying a stronger block. Decent for the price and a reasonable upgrade if you switch to colors.

Pros: The lock fitted my pocket door perfectly and was extremely easy to install. The lock is all metal and well built. Cons: Locking mechanism doesn't stay in place as intended; So the lock works about 40% of the time when I close the door. Opening the door from the outside with a butter knife or fingernail is fairly easy, but very annoying. With a mechanism this simple, you'd think a company would want to make sure the lock on their door lock was working properly.

Item arrived broken (not damaged) but broken. The inner cotter pin was sheared off when the assembler bent it around the knob at the factory. So I had to get another cotter pin and fix it myself instead of sending it back (due to time constraints). After installing a new cotter pin and straightening the L-shaped latch of the lock (another defect) it seems to work fine.
