🖤 Prismacolor Ebony Graphite Pencils - Set of 12 Black Sketching Pencils - Drawing Pencil Kit Review

I was so excited to get them and practice my drawing. The first pencil I sharpened, the lead fell apart before I could shape it. Removed, same result. Tried four other pens, same result. Apparently they were broken on arrival, disregarding any 'fragile' tag as no attention was paid to their integrity during transit. The pens are very good and I only know this because I once used a set my friend had. Very disappointed that I wasn't able to exchange them in time or get my refund.

I bought two boxes of these pencils for my students. A box was great, worked as I hoped it would and I would definitely recommend it. The leads in the second box were broken in the pins and 9/12 of the pins had to be thrown away. Good price, but not when it belongs in the bin. I would have preferred to deal with the seller directly on this matter as I would hate to give a bad review of the pens when the problem was clearly resolved. I didn't sharpen all my pencils as I don't need to sharpen them anymore. However, out of the five I sharpened, four turned out to be useless. Every time I sharpened one, the tip fell off. For some reason the graphite inside the pencil is cracked. Basically I sharpened the first one to zero before deciding it can't be saved. Love it. I often draw and draw manga/anime characters. Many of them have black hair. I used my good crayons to fill in the hair and they made it point so quickly it was a waste of money. I wanted pure black. I didn't want it to be shades of gray that I would have to heavily fill in and then blend out with a blunt, but I still wanted the pencil to look like a pencil and not a colored pencil that ends up turning black. These ebony pencils are wonderful. The color of the cable looks the same as the color of the outer case in the picture. Well sharpened and without breakage. These pencils are not jet black but are fun to draw with. If I cared more about their color, I could give them a lower rating, but I don't, and they have many other nice qualities - the range of values, stroke weights, and textures you can achieve with them is quite wide.
