This review is for a 2018 Subaru Forester with a factory towbar.

I was concerned about the Subaru's opening tailgate and the location of the car's exhaust pipe (very hot gases are channeled into the trunk). located 9.5 inches from the rear of the vehicle. With the tailgate open, the distance from the bottom of the trunk to the edge of the open door is approximately 20 inches. Due to the curved lifting rod and length, the load carrier appears to be at a safe distance from the car's exhaust. and added this clutch tensioner (didn't want to hear it rattle)…

Pros
  • Smooth, durable mesh floors make cleaning quick and easy
Cons
  • Expensive

The receiver rod bends slightly.

UPDATE: After 6 months of use this cargo carrier has failed miserably. You have to buy a clutch tensioner, but the worst thing is that the rod that holds the holder is bent. When I first put the trunk on the back of my trailer, it had to hold my generator. The generator is an Energizer 2200 which according to the website weighs 70 pounds. Then if you add 7 liters of gas which is another 11 pounds I will also put in 5 logs and stuff for about 20 pounds. This adds up to 101 pounds plus the 39…

Exceeded my expectations!

I ordered this to transport items we couldn't fit in the family car when we went on holiday and it worked great. The tote bag is wide, very well made and beautifully designed. Love the raised edges, they help secure the load and also serve as a great place to attach straps for your load. I use elastic cords and there are many places around the edges to attach cords. The floor/floor is made of durable material and remains stable thanks to the supports underneath. I didn't load it with heavy…

A very well designed stretcher lived up to expectations and I'm picky!

After reading many positive reviews and understanding how this carrier works, I realized this is exactly what we need to increase the carrying capacity of our Accord to carry our daughter's stuff for her freshman year of college to wear. Travel 1560 miles from California to Ohio. We loaded the media about halfway as it was enough. I have read some negative reviews and as an engineer familiar with carriers this carrier is well designed. I bought a premium type hitch, so the max load according to

Nice rack but doesn't hold up to the advertised load capacity

This Rambler Hitch Pro Series 63155 Rack for 1-1/4" Receivers seems perfect, slim and good quality. till it is We have used this carrier on two long trips (now on our second) I would only have positive things to say about this hitch carrier if it didn't flex significantly when loaded well above its weight limit I'm not sure if it did normal stress of driving on the freeway or if it's the speed bumps we crawl on while visiting grocery stores along the way but now it hangs/sags so low we're…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
