Simple and easy to carry

This is a good size to take my small toilet with me. I have a larger version of the Koi and this mat and the extra pen are enough for a nice long ride in the woods or elsewhere. Some days. I'm not crazy about the texture of the paper as it suits the larger size better. If I keep the blur light and don't paint edge to edge, the curl is easily fixed by placing a pillow under a heavy cider block or book. smaller and smaller, and the surface can be distracting. However, it's lightweight and useful,

Not my favorite for transparent watercolor

Bought for a transparent watercolor workshop and was a big mistake. This paper is very absorbent and allows for little smearing or play when used wet-on-wet. If you're buying for a rough or heavy layering technique, this might work. As for the previous review about it being difficult to separate, it turned out to be no more difficult than any other block, they all require a spatula or other flat knife to remove the sheet after varnishing. The key feature of the pad is that it is held together…

Watercolor Paper 140lb

Although this paper arrived and was still marked 140lb, I still found it quite thick for paper of this weight. I was painting in ink for a college class at a time when I usually find paper less stressful than actual watercolor. I will attribute the quality to the fact that it must be student paper. This is definitely a student award. However, it is a very good size, which I often complain about because watercolor paper is too big, so another advantage for students. So if you are just starting…

Not for watercolor

Do not buy this paper if you plan to use it for watercolor. It has a very rough surface and all liquid is absorbed instantly, like cardboard but worse. I thought it would work perfectly for small paintings - birds, feathers, butterflies. And for my first sketch, I was surprised by the rough texture. I couldn't even draw a clear line with a pencil because the texture was so rough. Some don't mind, but it wasn't really a problem. It happened when I first touched the paper with a brush. I might as

Many problems

I am a trained artist, never mastered watercolor. I decided to challenge myself to explore this medium and wanted to use inexpensive materials for my first attempts. The cover of the pillow states that it is designed to withstand repeated washing and cleaning. Haven't tried cleaning yet, but I doubt I can with this paper. I have found that even a light, gentle wiping of the surface to remove excess ink quickly destroys the paper. scraps of paper lifted from the surface. As the paper dried…
