Great helmet if you want something more compact

I really like this helmet, I don't feel like I have a UFO on my head. I just washed my sweat pads and they wash very well. Highly recommended

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Better than nothing

I ride BMX and I wouldn't ride it if I was really "trying" to protect my head, but I live in Vegas and this helmet is way cooler and better than wearing nothing . It's also EXTREMELY comfortable to wear which is a huge plus!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Transparency

Wanted this helmet but.

I really wanted this helmet. It fit well, was nice and light, looked good but offered little protection. I would not use this helmet if you were doing any stunts. It really only protects against scratches/scratches, not bumps/shocks.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Very expensive

The product arrived damaged.

The helmet has no velcro to keep the pads in place. (Let me actually rephrase that.) They came with them, but they're taped to the package that comes with the instructions, not the helmet. Render the helmet useless unless I go out and buy it myself l which I shouldn't have done. If you have problems with the return of defective goods, I am happy.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Only available in white

Flat protection

Very happy with this helmet. I never liked protection as a kid, but now if I get hurt, they won't pay my bills. Definitely low profile. Throw in a pair of low-profile Protec armbands and these kids are watching me ride in style. I would not recommend this helmet if you are going over 5-6 foot ramps and handrails. You honestly don't even know it's there when you warm up.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

great for light protection/entering the skate park

on the guard post i work/live i have to wear a helmet. While not exactly a protective helmet against, say, a collision with a car or whatever, it's great for the experienced skater/cyclist who just needs something to gear up for a skate park or other area where the Use of a helmet is required to turn upside down. When I bought this I knew it was the design intent so I'm giving it 5 stars. Unfortunately, if you're looking for true impact protection, this isn't for you

Pros
  • hands-free work
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Best Skateboard Helmet: Protective Gear

Get a quick overview here. If you are looking for a skateboard helmet, remember that there are multiple styles. Conventional helmets are made of styrofoam and are quite thick. They're pretty big on their heads. The style I prefer is made of a different material, similar to a football helmet. This model from Bucky Lasek is exactly that. Much more comfortable and as an added benefit if you hit the helmet hard and it's styrofoam style they go bad. But these are still good. I believe they are not…

Pros
  • 1 Year Trial
Cons
  • Retail Availability

Very minimal protection.

Bucky Lasek (translucent with red straps) is a fairly cheap/minimal design. I have previously worn other Pro-Tec models that have a foam barrier in addition to the padding. This helmet is a thin, just padded plastic shell. Good for riding flat but I wouldn't roll my kid in or ride anything over 3-4 with this helmet. In fact, inside it is specifically written that it does not meet protection standards and has minimal impact protection. The gasket came halfway out of the box so I had to re-tap it
