Pro-Tec Full Cut Certified Skate Helmet: Ultimate Safety and Performance Review

Helmet looks great and fits well. The outer box was terribly dented (I couldn't help but laugh at the contents). The only problem is that with all the obvious squeezing/squeezing that happened along the way, one of the earcups was ripped off and reattached to some sort of clear plastic sheet. This means that 3/4 of the adhesive tape is no longer suitable for this pad. Superglue might be my only option as I still haven't been able to contact support.

I've seen other reviews of this helmet with little to no padding. That's true, but what you get is exactly what is shown in the picture. I compared this helmet to the photos on the Protec website and saw how Protec makes them. See for yourself, they have some padding, mostly styrofoam. I've been wearing Protec helmets for 15 years and this helmet is the most uncomfortable. Not only is it a poor fit, it's the most ill-fitting and uncomfortable helmet I've ever worn. This includes perennial motocross helmets. To be honest I don't know how they sell them. The pads are totally inadequate. This helmet is very difficult to open and put on. The lining is very thin and therefore uncomfortable to wear. The top of the helmet (EPS layer) is WAY too thick. This makes the helmet look ridiculously high at the top. I made sure it installed correctly and it's still ridiculous. Don't expect a helmet to look like a full-size classic non-certified helmet.
