🔥 Compact and Portable Electric Single Burner Cooktop - Proctor Silex, White & Stainless, 1200 Watts (34106) Review

We bought this to use in our RV at camp this summer. We tried it at home last week and it warmed up right away and cooked eggs for breakfast, just like our stove. So far, so good.

I've tried several of these cooking burners. The Target and Walmart ones cycled at maximum speed to avoid overheating. I couldn't boil water with it. This one also seems to turn off, but after 16 minutes I was able to boil a pot of water to cook the pasta.

Spend more for a better product. I just received my Proctor Silex burner and tested it right away. Heats up very quickly, but doesn't go out. I turn the knob to the off position and the light stays on and keeps heating. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it. It's so cheap it's not worth returning. Due to defective products and the horribly slow/hanging Revain shopping app, I will be canceling my primary membership and shopping elsewhere.

I have a microwave in my apartment, no stove, but here is a small fridge for the kitchen. This fifth oven I bought was for outdoor patio use. This is an excellent burner that fills up in 30 seconds. (see videos). At this point the temperature of the element is about 850°F. There are no numbers or ticks on the control knob, just an expanding bar, so I set it by noting the position of the "off" hour marker. Of course, this doesn't work for young people, as I recently read that schools in California have removed analog clocks because children can't read them. It works great. As far as your house is good enough to handle enough blackout/feed voltage, this works great. I've been using it in my new apartment for two months now and it's so comfortable. I had a heating pad, which was not enough for my mother when she came to see me. So I bought it as a trial run for myself as I've never used this type before and amazingly it works great. Didn't know before purchasing that according to the instructions that came with this unit it cannot be left on when it is off. This turns out to be good advice, because the dial is so crappy that you can't be sure it's off when you turn the dial all the way. Normally you would expect the click and light to go out when the device was powered off. This one just sort of shrinks in the general direction and probably won't turn off unless it's off.
