The finish is very smooth and looks like a high quality ball head. I don't really like lever screws. They are too big and bother too often. I love the fact that there are two rotation settings, one on the base and one on the platform. It seems almost impossible to get a good fixation of the head pulling. It's either too loose or too tight. The fixation is quite strong and there are no problems with my Nikon D850.

I recently bought a lighter 11lb top tripod with a ball head but it didn't hold 5lbs consistently so I bought a ball head with a larger one Capacity that fits on the base tripod.
