Great little tie - versatile

These things are very useful. A great way to secure small items that doesn't require a large, bulky ratchet strap. Pretty handy for other uses too. For example, I replaced the 550 cable with a longer one and used it as a stretch with my 30 foot portable radio.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Some errors

Installs quickly and stays strong.

I use these to mount the Clam Venture shield screen and I leave them attached to Clam in its storage pouch. When it's time to tune, all I have to do is attach the hook to the swivel and tighten. Super fast and stable. The only thing I would add as a future improvement is to weave a thread of reflective material into the rope to make it more visible in the light of a flashlight.

Good price but the clasp needs some work.

Very convenient. The only gripe is a small wire clasp that closes the clip. It's flimsy, poorly constructed, and doesn't close easily. One of them fell off on first use. Aside from that, the camlock mechanism works great, it's easy to adjust and release, and you can use your own paracord to make a longer strap. If they fixed the clasp it would be 5 stars.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Reliability

Cheap, may cause cancer, made in China.

The packaging itself is no bigger than a potato. That's with 3 of these cables in it. The first key to understanding is that the cable is no wider than a shoelace. The second is made in China. Then California's Proposition 65 warning. Warning. This product and its packaging contain chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

  • Cool product

Great for kayaks

I have 2 J hooks, flip the kayak upside down, tie 2 of them (sometimes I tie the 3rd hook from the bow of the kayak to the loop on the hood, just so I know he's still there). I've probably put about 1000 miles on the Interstate (at over 70 mph) with my kayak and these straps. The kayak has never moved, not even in strong winds/thunderstorms. After a year of use, no signs of wear on the product.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Small size 1/8 inch diameter

The problem I've found is that the advertising overrepresents the product. This is because the Revain promotional image and the "bungee" on the label are indicative of a large bungee-like cable rather than the small, non-stretchable 1/8-inch cable that comes with the kit. The description suggests a small size, but it's definitely not obvious. The 1/8" diameter size must be clearly stated/listed in the advert. If you need an adjustable 1/8" wide strap for attaching small items then this is a…

Awesome bungee like a TINY pin!

Wow, a strong crowd! I love how people thought they would buy a big motorcycle harness or kayak to tie down. I've been using them for over a year and they have so many uses that traditional bungees don't have. That's not to say it replaces the bungee, because sometimes you need something springy. The beauty of them is that they're surprisingly strong for their size and unlike most bungee cords, they're adjustable from 1 to 5 feet with useful holding flexibility. You can't buckle up a boat or…
