The squirrel's nest has completely clogged my chimney. The carbon monoxide alarm in the basement began to ring regularly. I held this portable device in my hands for several weeks until I solved my problem. I can confirm that he has detected carbon monoxide on multiple occasions. Apparently I survived to write this review. I would call it a good investment.

This leak detector came with no instructions. We connected and set it up. Following are voice prompts that may work for some but are annoying in the workplace. As there were no written instructions we didn't know how long it should charge, how long the battery should last etc. When switched on it says "The battery is low." The rest looks like a decent quality device.

I plan to put it on me and have them tell me if there is a problem. This frees my hands to do other things. It can speak, be silent or vibrate. The choice is yours, depending on the specific situation. The instructions were informative and easy to read and understand, but the language could be a bit better. This meter responds to small and large changes in 4 gases within seconds. You can test an O2 meter simply by simply breathing on it, which will trigger the standard low oxygen alarm (the attached photo shows the alarm triggered on this particular test - it is both an audible and visual alarm).
