    Bad FlexPlate OUT OF ROUND

Plate with rod and hammer. It's not perfect, but it works. I'm not sure who does your quality control, but it's not very good. If we didn't need a car we would return the plate. Thanks Dan Arnson.

    Pros
    • Test for a year
    Cons
    • There are other interesting options.

    Decent flex plate on spares

Appears to be a well made part. The SFI approved marking on the Flexplate plus includes an SFI sticker that can be shown during servicing. I use it on a soft 350 street rod because the GM flexplate ripped with normal use. It also has a double conversion bolt pattern as shown.

    Pros
    • Easy install
    Cons
    • Crumpled packaging

Good but not perfect for flexplates

The first thing I did, as with all flexplates, was lay it on a flat surface. The sprocket just isn't straight. I also hate how much spatter is left on the surface. For a drain replacement I'd say this would probably fit the bill and work well. If your investment is a high-end motor, choose something else.

    Pros
    • Excellent construction
    Cons
    • Not sure

    Typical aftermarket junk

Don't like cleaning out bolt holes to get bolts through holes, or use shims to make room for a starter gear that's already set back .125. The center hole of the crank is loose and sloppy. The surface already shows signs of corrosion when delivered. Back to buying quality when it's gone. Good parts are not as expensive as learning how to buy bad ones

    Pros
    • Free for educational purposes
    Cons
    • Very expensive

    Well made and reasonably priced

Purchased when I upgraded the SBC 350 in my Camaro. It looked very well made and snapped perfectly into place. Much thicker and stronger than standard flex plates. I used new bolts, coated them with red Loctite and torqued them to 65 ft-lbs. The starter now also works very easily when I start the car. I didn't have to use starter pads. The car starts like clockwork - hot or cold. Great flexplate for SBC.

    Pros
    • Hands Free Operation
    Cons
    • No
