Loose Gazzet - Parts

This filter had a loose seal which allowed all of the engine oil to drain onto the pavement. Found the gasket and reinstalled it after gluing the gasket. Since this filter is difficult to access, I had to check it by starting the engine. The total loss is a large amount of cat litter and seven liters of synthetic oil. I would not buy this brand again.

Works great on Tacoma

Got this for my 2012 Tacoma 4.0. Driven 7k km with it. It's hard to determine the condition of an oil without sending it to a lab for testing. The anti-drain check valve works great on this filter. Not a drop of oil came out when I removed it from the engine oil adapter. After removing it, I punched a hole in the anti-drain check valve gasket, turned it upside down and about 6-8 ounces of oil flowed out.

  • Easy setup

In '07 Tacoma V6: Replacement Parts

I have this in my '07 Tacoma V6. It is difficult to assess how efficiently an oil filter is doing its job. It has synthetic mixed media and is rated 10K; Those are nice features, but they'll change around 8K. The PL prefix used to be called Pure One and came in a matte yellow case. it's now called the Purolator One and comes in a sleek blue case. I wouldn't be surprised if the current version comes out in 2012 when Mann+Hammel became the owner of Purolator. For a few bucks more I bought a boss…

Top Rated Filter for Filter

Examine the filters and you will see that this is the highest rated filter. Outperforms many synthetic media filters including the Purolator filter. The grippy texture of this can is good. This filter does not require a filter wrench (when properly installed). Excellent filter for extended drain intervals. Larger but fits both Toyota 22R/RE series and Chrysler 3.5L HO engines. I wonder why engineers (and I am one of them) specify smaller filters. The supply chain could be greatly simplified…

Great price: spares

I have used the Orange brand filter exclusively for years and I am convinced it must be the best filter as it was the best selling filter! My opinion changed when I read an article comparing the amount of filter material and internal construction of major brands and the Orange filter ended up at the bottom while the Purolator was one of the best filters tested. That's a pretty big difference considering they cost almost the same. Switching to the Purolator also fixed an issue I was having…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I use this filter as an oversize filter for my jeep. It fits the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4.7L HO V8 engine, as well as several other cars (I believe Dodge uses this engine too). A larger filter holds more dirt and filters oil faster. I didn't notice any difference in oil pressure, I don't think a bigger filter would be enough to change that. Using a larger filter gives you a 99.9% filter advantage without a significant reduction in filter speed. High pressure "Racing" filters are…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation

  • Exorbitant price

frame transformation. Best in Filters

I've been using Fram my whole life and haven't even thought about it. One boring day I was reading oil filter reviews. I won't call Fram rubbish like many forums seem to do as they haven't failed me in 34 years. But I will say that reviews and lab tests prove that Purolator is much better. I used the PL30001 here as a direct replacement for the PH43. My application (Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 2004) actually calls for PL14670 (PH16) but this part number increases performance by about 33%. The…

Replacement Oil Filter Tip

These are well made filters with lots of fine filter media. I always choose the largest filter with the right gasket diameter and threads. So I get the most filter material and the largest amount of oil for my money. Why not, most filters cost the same.
