Putco 87195 Bumper Grille Insert Review

After reading some reviews I was concerned about the quality of this product. I just installed it on my 2017 Silverado HD2500. The installation took about 30 minutes, everything fitted perfectly. Concerned it will be held by glue consistent with previous reviews. Mine came with four screws. Very sure. Looks great. My only complaint would be that it's a bit flimsy and flimsy, but that helps with installation. In general very satisfied.

I am glad that I bought this product. I didn't find it "cheap" or "thin" as some other reviewers have claimed. Putco apparently heeded the comments and redesigned the grille, adding two bolt-on points at the top instead of double-sided tape. The guide was very good. They were step by step with detailed photos. Grille must be removed for installation (minimum on 2015 3500HD). Otherwise there is no access. In my case (Chevrolet 2500HD 2015) the lower part is held by two screws as shown in the picture. The top is held in place with two tabs and two small pieces of glue (the size of a thumbnail) that should stick to the inside of the bumper. I was skeptical from the start. It includes a (very) small alcohol wipe to clean the splices. No problem, I have rubbing alcohol and a rag, so I clean the spot very well to give the glue the best possible chance.
