Cheap but works. best in home audio

It works I think, but it's a silly little thing for the price and durability is definitely questionable. Small hollow piece of plastic. . This is the little plastic tower that sits at the base of your tonearm. When the tonearm reaches your chosen horizontal point on the record, it touches the plastic trigger on the bar. This causes the lever located under the tonearm to move up and lift the tonearm with it. After lifting the tonearm, the lever remains in the rest position. You have to reset itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Something's wrong

OMG, called 1973 and wants to bring its fashion back

You read all the reviews from the guys about it twitching too fast and hitting the tonearm. If only that were the only mistake in this case. . I mean it's cool. If I had an ugly player I think everything would be fine. But I have a beautiful player. It does not look good. It's like Buck Rogers backstage stuff. It's an ingenious mechanism and of course it's spring loaded so it pops out, but it doesn't make the tonearm fly or anything. So, it works, but oh my god, it's easy. So ugly. If you wantโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I will add later

Really great upgrade for a manual tonearm

I like to listen to my vinyl late at night. In most cases this is not a problem. However, I do fall asleep from time to time and that is a problem. Your stylus is the most important part of your turntable and I've spent a lot of money on a high end stylus. Enter QUP. I have a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit SB and it's the perfect accessory. As soon as the album comes to an end, "POP", the tonearm rises and the stylus is not damaged. It looks good, is easy to install and has really done a lot forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Overall ok but...

Bad design. Not compatible with many popular low profile turntables

I have a ProJect 1Xpression Carbon Classic and unfortunately QUp is not compatible with this turntable. I was really disappointed with this product on many levels after receiving it. Having to make permanent "changes" to a $50 product is not a solution. Even so, there is still not enough space between the outside edge of the record and where the arm assembly is inserted into the base. The QUp is too wide and rubs against my records. I really hope you plan on fixing some of these design flaws as

Pros
  • Add automatic arm lift to almost any manually operated turntable
Cons
  • No form required

Fits Pro-Ject The Classic SB

Works great on my Pro-Ject The Classic SB turntable. This action is a little jittery when the hand is raised, but no real issues or issues. As someone with early onset Type 3 diarrhea, I wasn't sure I would have time for a long-term facility. My gastrointestinal tract also suffers from Wilford-Brimley Syndrome, so I never know if my gas will be hot air or a wet fountain. Luckily, it took about ten minutes of beer and fumbling to set up the Q Up. The Q Up is plastic and looks a bit flimsy andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Can be used with most stock tonearms, from single pivot to outboard
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Why didn't I know about this device two years ago?!?!?

This little device is incredibly easy to set up and very effective (at least on my TT). I have a Scoutmaster II turntable with a modified arm base that takes up significantly more space than the standard JMW arm that comes with it. The Q UP fits easily on a table, even with a large arm base. However, you'll need some free space on the base to install this thing. I can't say exactly how much, it's not a huge amount, but of course it has to be in a very specific range to work properly. I'd sayโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Has a slider to adjust "Lift Sensitivity".
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it is written.

Does its job well most of the time (see review)

This kid really works. I've had a manual turntable for 20 years now and it's a needle killer. I bought this lifter hoping I could get distracted and not be there when the recording ends and not kill my pen and yes it works! However, there are two issues preventing it from getting 5 stars. First of all, you have to finally set the position for the trigger, playing it safe, and for records with medium and large labels, raise your hand to the point of contact. Otherwise, if it is set for smallโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Safely raise the tonearm at the end of the recording
Cons
  • Quality
