This is the first manual crimping tool available that is suitable for crimping "Dupont" types (I've had 5 different ones before Bought). The insulation crimp width is 1.7 mm and the conductor crimp width is 1.5 mm. One I've used is the Iwiss SN-28B / SN-2549 (common chip sizes for Dupont) but the closest chip is 1.9mm and 1.6mm and the 1.9mm insulating crimp binds almost always when inserting. Be careful, I'm new to crimping and may be using the wrong terminology ;-) I've found that you can successfully crimp JST-XH connectors, but you MUST be careful and VERY accurate, me I would say the tolerance is less than 0.1mm. The biggest problem I had was that if you're not careful you could damage the connector or flatten the "nub" that holds the connector in place in the JST header.
