Better than OEM, best on lift struts

These were the second hood lift shocks I've bought. The first were OEM for the Lexus RX, but one worked or didn't fit properly even though it was from the dealer. They have arrived and they fit and work great! Very happy with it and disappointed with the OEM.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

PERFECT ! in spares

SO EASY TO INSTALL. Be confident and have a strong support to hold the hood when starting, as well as the light and screwdriver. (FLAT HEAD) YOU WILL BE SO GLAD YOU DID IT YOURSELF AND SAVE A FEW DOLLARS THAN YOUR LEXUS DEALER WILL MAKE FOR YOU. . JOHN DWA BEACH, WA

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Very expensive

Easy to install and works well

I bought these to replace a broken hood brace on a 2015 Lexus RX. It was the exact replacement. They were easy to install and worked well. There was no installation guide, but there are many example videos on the internet to look up. Installation took 5 minutes.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Some small things

Seems ok for the price. - Spare parts

Everything seems fine. The price is ok compared to some others. My only concern is that the ball joint that attaches to the top of the hood is flat while the OEM version had a 10-15 degree angle. It seems to be snug and secure enough, but not as snug as the OEM version. There's really a lot of pressure on them and hopefully they can hold on for a while. I used the strong arm brand on another Lexus that had an angle on the ball joint and felt a bit heavier. Installed on a 2010 RX350 with 115,000

Pros
  • Fair performance
Cons
  • Poor repairability

Very important! on spares

These hood struts are great! They set the direction opposite to the original Lexus struts, but no big deal. They've been installed for a few months now and I have no regrets. The last pair I replaced was for my 2006 Honda Accord. I paid the dealer $78 for a pair. This pair for my Lexus RX 350 is $25. Installing the spacers took about 10 minutes including a YouTube video of the installation. I will be buying another pair for my next car that needs them, not from the dealer next time.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Faulty

Easy to install but looks flimsy. Let's see if they come off.

Made in China so no instructions included but after watching a few online videos from similar manufacturers installation was an easy task. As others have noted, the area where the top and bottom snap into the ball feels a bit flimsy. I'm a bit skeptical if they accidentally come loose as they don't feel as firm as the original frames. However, on the new ones, the front hood opened and closed like new and stayed like new once opened. The time will show.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some issues

Easy to attach to lifting legs

Very easy to attach. I used a small flathead screwdriver to pry off the top retaining ring on my 2011 OEM rx350 hood lifter and it worked. Twisted the bottom of the rack and it fell off. Grabbed the new jacks and simply slid them onto the protruding balls without touching their locking rings. I applied some silicone spray to the lift (the part that goes into the structure when closed) and closed the hood. He opened the hood from inside the car, stepped forward, and released the safety latchโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

The dealer wanted $400 to replace them, I paid $20

My Lexus dealer said a little over $400 to replace the hood pillars. I'm a 65 year old woman with some tools to unbolt the hood supports that needed replacing and a husband to help hold the hood (although I used a broom as my main source of holding the hood and she came back to the broom) . There is a small clamp on each end of the bars that needs to be loosened/pulled out and the bars came off with little effort. I tried removing the supports without loosening/pulling the clamps but thatโ€ฆ

Pros
  • handsfree
Cons
  • old

Excellent goods! Very important!

My car is a 2010 Lexus RX 350. Bought it from my brother a few weeks ago. When I was 11, these Hood Struts Lift Support Shocks were the first thing I noticed that didn't work. I wanted to take the car to the dealer for replacement. But my husband decided to watch YouTube videos showing how to do it yourself. He found one and the YouTuber made it easy and simple. So we clicked on the link for these Hood Struts Lift Support Shocks provided in the video and bought them. We received them a few days

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
