This product does exactly what I need. Since my iPhone 12 mini can't charge as fast with a MagSafe charger as the GPS will discharge, I have to use a Lightning charger with it. But this adapter allows me to use the phone's built-in Magsafe mount to accommodate an existing car phone mount. It was just what I needed but very overpriced. The materials at this point warrant a price of around $5.

The back metal plate you use to attach to the previous mounts is barely glued to the back. I've received 2 so far, the first one I sent back, the second arrived and almost immediately fell through in the same discount. It stays on the back of my Iphone 2 Pro Max with no problem, but when you attach it to the car mount and then try to remove the phone from the mount for the first time, the metal plate stays on the mount and this adapter stays powered on your iPhone.

The glue on the magnetic side of the car mount is NOT GOOD. Within the first day the round piece of magnet detached from the base and stuck to my old Scosche magic mount. I tried super glue and within a month the base was actually working much better, but now the rubber piece has snapped and the glue is peeling off the black base. It's a shame because the one I use on my pop socket works great and has never come loose and the magnet on the phone itself was VERY strong. I would be willing to…

I liked the magnet at first. I was able to continue using the Scosche Air Vent Mount with my iPhone 12 Max Pro. Then came Memorial Day weekend. Driving at 80 degrees with the sunroof open, I turned a corner and Quarble and my iPhone fell to the ground. The metal disc on the back of the quarble was still glued to the scosche, showing that the glue hadn't worked. I used to have an iPhone 8 with a magnetic plate in a case that attached to a car mount. The mount was too small to fit in one of my iPhone 12 Pro Max's magnets, so I waited and got it. UPDATE: The metal back plate is held in place by an adhesive which then dissolves when heated. DO NOT BUY! I have a CD holder I got here a while back with a detachable magnetic "claw" to hold the phone. Since I couldn't find a version of MagSafe, I looked for an adapter instead and found this one.
