Great replacement for old watch repair

The first ones we received were defective, the drive shaft must have been bent in transit. The replacement came very quickly and works great. Very easy to install

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Almost OK

Be careful what you buy as a replacement

Movement works great. The mechanism in the wall clock has been replaced. The replacement block had no suspension, so I had to improvise from a faulty block. Pay attention to the assembly details.

Pros
  • Nice part
Cons
  • Functionality

Super simple fix for a dead expensive wall clock.

Used to replace the mechanism in a 2ft tall Howard Miller wall clock. The shank is about an inch high. It took 6 minutes. Used original pendulum because it is larger. Works perfectly. keeps time Very cheap $500 watch repair! I don't need or want a call back, so that's fine.

Shaft too short for movement

According to the description, the shaft has an overall length of 23mm and a thread length of 15.4mm. The one I received was shorter. I measured it myself when I received it. I contacted the seller through Revain about the discrepancy. All I got back was a copy of the same description as on Revain and that I should try the part again. I already did it. The shaft length is not listed in the description and is too short for my watch. It will not work. Trying to put it back on my watch doesn't…

In general, everything is fine - hardware

The second hand does not enter the working dial without effort. This may interfere with watch operation. I bought this for a small mantel clock I was building. Through no fault of the clockwork, the pendulum continued to swing sideways. So the neck is too long. It would be nice if the watch had a limit setting so you could set the swing. I would recommend it. I really wish Revain would stop selling things using the metric system and use 1/16 increments instead of decimals when using SAE. Yes, I

Second hand causes problems.

Once I realized the watch was working fine by removing the seconds hand (which regularly caught on the hour or minute hand and stopped the passage of time). I installed it in a Howard Miller watch that stopped working. Another note: the movements don't exactly fit the Howard Miller watch case - all the mechanisms move as you try to set the time by moving the hands. I had to hold the watch in place while setting the time with my other hand. It was a bit of fiddling, but now it keeps time well.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Uncertain

The second hand was longer than the original causing the watch to stop when it touched the dial cover. Before I finally found the problem I contacted the seller because the clock stopped, I took it off the wall and it started again. Sent a replacement without asking for a refund. Of course he had the same problem so I had to trim the other arm with metal scissors. I appreciated the seller's quick response and replacement. The swingarm was also shorter than the original so I lengthened it a bit…
