I like Neiko tools but they slip

I used these two tools to drill a piece of 3/16 inch steel plate. The larger tool immediately broke the ground in the hole it started. After digging up the fragments I started with a smaller drill bit and it cut through nicely. what to do with it I have never (never) broken any Neiko tools and have been using them for several years now. The smaller tool cuts really well, which leads me to suspect the larger drill might be at fault, but who knows? I contacted Neiko and their response was…

Pros
  • Step drill

  • Long delivery time

Works great in action

I just got Starlink when they arrived so I took them to the roof and used them to drill holes in a steel pipe to install a satellite dish. They worked great! I didn't even oil it or anything but it didn't get hot at all. I didn't push it too hard or anything, but that's what I want it for. If I need to drill something, I don't know exactly what size hole I need, and I don't want to lug a bunch of tools onto the roof. It fit perfectly in my wireless driver. It claims to remove burrs as it moves.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Short Manual

A useful tool kit for drilling large holes in sheet metal!

Media could not be loaded. I had a project that required me to drill some large holes in the side of the steel case of my Trane gas oven. I installed a surge protector to protect the variable speed motor and the digital electronics in the oven controls. The surge regulator had a ½ inch wire bracket that the power wires to my oven ran through. I also had to route the power cords through several areas to get to the area they connect to and I also had to drill holes in those areas. The Beats…
