Replaced lower bogie carrier installed by manufacturer

I believe the manufacturer wanted to hide the spare tire so they installed the carrier under the middle of the trailer. The last thing I want to do when I have a flat tire is crawl under the camper. Much better to have it available on the rear bumper.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • unreliable

Just what I needed most in spare tire mounts

I needed this when I was upgrading my teardrop trailer from 12" to 15" wheels and found that the spare tire was only Has 2 inches of ground clearance. Swapped it out and now I have a nice 9" spare tire clearance. Had to put a washer on the bottom as the trailer tongue is only 2.5" long. Just get a piece of rod from Home Depot or somewhere and glue it between the U-bolts and the bottom of the frame.

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • Price that beats the piggy bank

The price is normal. There are already traces of rust on the box. Tire mounting is missing. No nuts. It wouldn't be a problem if they used standard 1/2-20 carriage bolts. They have 1/2 way threaded studs to attach the rod. Nobody uses it as nuts. Don't just go to the store to buy. I think you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • I don't remember

Excellent universal replacement bracket

In my use I had to modify it slightly and use screws instead as my mounting site was about 1/2 inch thin compared to what the U-bolts were cut for. After a little modification and bolting to my home built camper it worked and looks great. The mount itself wobbles slightly, which should be taken into account as it is a folding mount. A little exercise is not bad enough to take anything away from this product. Price and easy installation. I would recommend this mount and product.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • The list will be long.
