Works like an Arduino but NOTHING works with WiFi

I've looked at tons of tutorials online and can't seem to get it to work. It works in the sense that I can use it like another Arduino, but the wifi part doesn't work at all. It can't connect or do anything with the ESP8266Wifi library (even if it compiles correctly). Basically I'm stuck trying to make it act as a Wi-Fi source and then connect on my phone or computer but it just doesn't show up. I've tried different Wemos boards to see if anything changes, different examples, different board…

    Pros
    • Great choice
    Cons
    • I vaguely remember

The ESP8266 library works fine and once it loaded I was very happy.

Other reviewers mentioned a quality issue but I didn't have this issue. The only component that is not straight is the power connector as shown in the product image. Not enough to cause a problem in my opinion. The ESP8266 library works well and once loaded I was able to get this board up and running almost immediately.

    Pros
    • Price
    Cons
    • Expensive Insurance

It takes several attempts to load my code.

It takes several attempts (sometimes more) to upload my code to the board. Also, as mentioned, there isn't much documentation on setting up the Arduino IDE to upload to the board. Once up and running, everything ran pretty smoothly (I used it to send HTTP requests for audio response and motion detection based on the Philips Hue system).

    Pros
    • Absolute Legend
    Cons
    • Periodicity

All is well. Physical qualities are questionable.

This is a rating of build quality, not electronics performance, as I am in the middle of it and moving forward with the project. I immediately saw that the pin sockets on either side were tilted slightly toward the center of the box. I can't say for certain that this was Qunqi's problem as Revain chose to ship this board in a 5lb stainless steel hardware box to ensure it arrives safe and sound. I hooked up a SainSmart LCD 16x2 screen that perfectly matches my Arduino Uno boards. The contacts…

    Pros
    • Pleasant
    Cons
    • So far so good
