Good Filter: Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

The filter is very thin. The problem is that it's so flat that it slows the passage of the wine, limiting ventilation. It comes in two parts so you can skip the filter if you want, or just filter and not aerate. Good quality, heavy and works well.

does not aerate well

I have many aerators, they all work well but all are plastic. So when I saw this one in stainless steel, I immediately went for it. Okay, it's clean and easy to maintain, but the ventilation isn't great. After two weeks I went back to my plastic wines which give me good fizzy wines.

Very durable aerator

I really like it because it has a filter and I can throw it in the dishwasher as it is stainless steel. The only downside is that it pours a little quickly and the wine can pool around the filter. So if you take it out of the jar too quickly, it will drip everywhere. Although I like it better than the glass I had.

Not very ventilating, but it filters well!

Airtight. There are only a few bubbles in my glass after pouring. I tried pouring from different sides and holding the aerator at different heights but nothing changed. Filters very well. I drink dry red wines so it was nice to see how much sediment was picked up by the screen. That's all he does for me.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Great for aerating and filtering our wine

The product is very durable and we love aerating and filtering our wine. We were looking for something that could ventilate and filter at the same time. It was the only item we could find with a built in filter to catch sediment from older wines. I wish it had a cap for the top as we drink our bottle for 2 days and like to keep the carafe capped.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

A 2 for 1 that works well

I was looking for an aerator without plastic and this one worked for me. I haven't used the strainer yet, I have a couple of old red wine bottles that I hoarded (forgot them!) and I think this will help filter out the sediment. I've read that old wine shouldn't be carbonated, so I like the fact that the two functions are separate. Just tried it on a cheap bottle that came gift wrapped - aerate directly into the glass rather than decant. and it was amazing to drink. Not sure if it was because of

Extremely useful device for wine lovers

This is a really great device that fills a serious need for those of us who enjoy aging wine to its optimum condition. I can attest to the difficulty of finding a metal strainer fine enough to filter out wine sediment. All I could find was a tea strainer, which is nowhere near good enough. For years I had to wait for my wine to go through coffee filters. But this little star has a really thin stainless steel filter. It does its job quickly and then rinses off easily. The combination with a wine

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

These combo filters and aerators are probably the best tool in a wine lover's kit. Most of the table wines we buy are medium-fine wines, which we then age for 5-7 years before drinking. At least an hour before drinking, we pour the wine into a serving vessel with this "tool" and it removes the natural sediments while aerating the wine - the end result is that the wine becomes that optimal. minimal hassle and hassle. The "tools" are also very easy to clean, just rinse with tap water. They are…
