Rabbit W6121 Beverage Stoppers Assorted Review

I bought these to replace a set of rabbit stoppers which had worn out after long and frequent use. These new ones are slightly different and just don't work properly. In the past month they have twice knocked over the red wine bottles that were lying on their side in my wine cooler, leaving a big mess. This has never happened before. Can't recommend her more. Finally corks that seal. These things are great if you plan on leaving a sealed bottle on the counter. If you want to put it in the fridge, you'll have to get creative. The cork protrudes a full inch from the top of the bottle for reasons unclear. You could cut 3/4 inch off the end and it wouldn't change the functionality when taking it out of the bottle and greatly improve the usability. These are great wine corks but not hard rubber. They're easy to remove, almost to the point where it's too easy. There are grooves on the corks to seal the bottle, but even if they are dented I would never store a bottle on its side with these corks. The corks close the bottle, but I've noticed that if you accidentally click the bottle, even if I close the corks, the cork will come loose. We put our bottles sideways in the fridge and use them for all open bottles. They go great with reds and some whites but we've had Riesling twice (sweet but not sparkling) which blew off the tops and what a mess! The first time the glass was not filled before storage, we decided never to store the Riesling without removing the full glass. We just cleaned up a second bottle mess where a full glass was removed. Revain's information on this product is terribly inaccurate. See the attached image from the Revain website which shows these stoppers are silicone. However, as you can see from the packaging (see attached photo), they are made of synthetic rubber (Styrene Butadiene Rubber, SBR), a material that can be toxic. I like that they are washable and cheap. I bought these for wine and they work great in or out of the fridge. If I really make an effort to make a tight seal by squeezing hard, I can put the bottle in the fridge with no ill effects on the side.
