Works and looks good

I have bought several of these. They work amazing. I've used mules my whole life and every time I ride them I realize how much I love flats too. Highly recommended. FYI - my wife really likes the color pink - it has made her bike "more feminine" she claims.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Thin

They make a clicking noise after 30 miles

After only 30 miles they make a clicking noise every time you press the pedal which is very annoying. they are stuck on the crankshaft. I took them apart and the nut seems tight enough on the spindle and they have new factory grease. bring back my old pedals and the noise is gone see attached video.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Not bad

Recommend Crank Brothers best double ball bearing design

Only one ball bearing per pedal. This means that it does not last long and wastes energy when driving. My old TREK bike had better pedals (double ball bearings). I noticed this when my Yeti pedaled harder than my Santa Cruz friends. Upon inspection, these pedals will not even spin more than once before resistance prevents them from spinning again.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Grabs nipple like a baby

Seriously, these pedals are the truth. They're biting into my 50s like a baby cutting open a pacifier. They refuse to let go and continue to give me the milk of a hard ride. It makes my ride bouncy, supple and milky smooth. Even if I burp a tire they still hold on and beg for more. I could wear my pants on the trail. They would still be there, offering life-generating sustenance. Wait. What were we talking about?

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Long delivery time

They're popular for a reason. Excellent quality. The bearings look like new after two seasons of heavy use. The average cost of $45 is quite high considering the pins are not stainless steel and will rust quickly. Our son has Chester pedals on one MTB and IMRider pedals on another. The price difference is significant, and the quality is pretty similar (see IMRider review). but the Race Face Chester is hard to beat.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Available in white only

high quality good for pedals and cleats

There is a saying: if you buy cheap, you pay twice. I've bought fake fooker pedals for a lot less, they're a complete stolen copy of the racing face design, just cheaper quality. They immediately removed my grip when I tried to put them in. I had to buy a new crank which was not available as a unit so I had to buy a whole new crank PLUS buy new pedals. I was trying to save money and ended up spending twice as much as if I had bought the race face from the start.

Pros
  • trial for one year
Cons
  • expensive

Best choice in its price range

I went back and forth from Crankbrothers' Stamp 1 Large to Chesters to Stamp 1 Small and finally back to Chesters. I liked the big platform on the Stamps when I was learning to ride, but the cleats just wouldn't stick to my mountain bike shoes like the Chesters did after I started riding the rougher trails. They are perfect for my size 10 but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone bigger than a size 12, they might be too tight. Of course, the pins hurt more, but their ability to hold my legsโ€ฆ

Pros

Cons
  • No Instructions

Manufacturer packaged two left pedals

We really like these pedals and have fitted them to another bike. They are light and very handy. However, the manufacturer packs two left pedals. Ways to not worry about your customers. While Revain manages the order, processing, and payment, they exclude themselves from resolving this issue other than a refund. They will not make an in-flight exchange or even rebook while waiting for a refund. They come back and buy a few more dollars locally. My time and frustration are worth a few bucks. Iโ€ฆ
