Well done for the price

After 20 years of clipless pedaling I wanted to try flat pedals on my new Roscoe trail bike. After 50 miles on a rocky trail I am very happy with the Chester pedals. They're wide enough to give me enough support but not too big to get in the way or take extra hits on the rocks. I haven't slipped off the pedals yet, which was a big problem with clipless pedals. They feel well built, light weight and hold up great. All the reviews I've read say they can handle rock hits without falling apart, so…

Chesters - Best Parts & Components

I mounted these MTB pedals on my city bike and I love them. Here's what I'm thinking after a week or so of riding: Durability: These pedals feel really well made and the materials feel impact resistant. Aesthetics: The thin profile is cool, they look pretty aggressive, and I like the fact that they look modest in black. A casual passerby might mistake them for cheap plastic pedals. Functionality: The dimensions of the pads are perfect and they feel great underfoot. They are very grippy and feel

Good value but hard to adjust pins

These pedals are very grippy. The pins are very high when fully extended and grab almost too much in my opinion. It can be difficult to get your foot back on it if it slides a little on bumps. You can adjust the height of the pins with a hex wrench. Unfortunately, the nuts they screw into are held in place by the composite, meaning they are sometimes held in place. At least half of them only rotated when I rotated the pins so they couldn't be lowered. I solved this problem by wedging the tip of

Pedals with a great balance of (low) price, durability and performance

I've been riding these pedals for a year now and for the price, especially when they're on sale, you can't beat the balance of durability and performance. I wear size 11 shoes and the width is just right for my build - not too narrow and not too wide. I've only had a few pedal strokes with these pedals (I often ride very rocky and technical trails in my area) and apart from a few small scratches they still look like new. If you're wearing sticky-soled shoes (such as the Five Ten Contact MTB…

Affordable, durable and good traction so far so good

I finally swapped out the factory pedals on a 17 year old Kona Lava Dome for Chesters. First impressions from the 3 hours I spent with it this weekend are very good. The pedals feel well made and offer MUCH better grip than my old pedals. I weigh about 140 pounds, wear Vans Sk8-Hi Pros (rubber soles) and mostly ride a single track in Wisconsin. My feet felt great on the pump track and trails. My train seemed more efficient. With the ability to do most of the spin, push forward earlier, and…
