Great brush!: Kitchen & Dining

Very strong and great for my fine strands. I have moderately thick hair, but only because of the number of strands, so often strands of hair break easily and are unruly. This helps keep them under control. I use it by turning my head and brushing my hair down. Make sure you wash your brush frequently or the oil will naturally build up as this hair is not synthetic.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires a base

I've been sharpening knives for most of my life. I am 61 years old and sat at my father's feet using a flat stone and sharpening all of his knives. However, I have never been able to make them as sharp as with this little product. You can get 4 or 5 shots with this product and I use a sling after sharpening it to remove burrs. Just unbelievable. I wish I could get paid by the hour for sharpening all of my dad's knives!

Simple, cheap and incredibly effective

I bought this to sharpen some angle heads that would be almost impossible to sharpen with a regular block. It sharpened her hair in minutes and worked so well I quickly went through all my kitchen knives. Reviews complaining about disc wobble don't seem to realize that it's the sharpener's simple genius that allows it to form a V-channel that bevels your knives. I find it best to first apply a little downward pressure to remove material from very dull knives, and then ease off on impacts when…

Better than all my other knife sharpeners!

I've been using this for a few months now and have decided to leave it on the countertop next to the dishwasher to clean my knives a few times before putting them in the drawer. It brought a pair of very dull blades back to life, and it's so nice to always have a knife with a sharp blade. I have other knife sharpeners and they're all gathering dust while this one gets used to it. I contacted the company with a question and they responded immediately, which I found both refreshing and a sign…

ok not great in Cutlery & Knife Accessories

You get what you pay for, in this case you get a little more than you pay for. It curls the edge to a ridge so using a leather thong afterward really helps. My photos were taken at 1000x zoom (a pen would take up half the frame to read) and you can see the curled edge. On harder steels I can't remove that burr as easily for some reason (maybe I'm just crap). I've since purchased a system that uses stones that gradually thin out and the results are MUCH better, but I can't honestly say. They're…

Great minimalist knife sharpener. Throw away my abrasives.

Great thing! After just a few passes, the knife will be beautiful and razor sharp. You can even see metal shavings on the base after each pass. It also doesn't wear out as quickly as the abrasive V-types because you can spin the wheels on the abrasive surface. Much better than the four wheel sharpener my mom had when I was a kid. The dual wheel design is where it came from. Simply spin the wheel a little with your finger every few passes to avoid scoring the sharpening blade. Also make sure…
