Serious problem - sudden stop

We bought a new 20 inch screen for our 7 year old boy on January 8th 2020. During Covid-19, cycling together may have been the only activity for children. can tidy up under the canopy on site My 7 year old cycles a lot more than before, I've noticed the bike stops on its own and he also complains to me that it has tripled his weight a few times My fault, I didn't pay much attention to it. Today I took it on my bike and my son was riding it on the sidewalk and I was running after him and all of…

Cheap parts, poor workmanship. Good name?

Assembly: As a former bike shop mechanic, I'm used to everything from building a beach cruiser to complex suspension bulkheads. I built 100 bikes out of the box, maybe 1000. It was one of the worst builds I've ever come across. about 3/8 inch - there were metal shavings in the bottom bracket - some hex bolts didn't fit the correct size allen wrench - the seatpost was longer than the seat tube, which prevented the saddle from dropping completely. : Children's bikes are difficult to achieve in…

Quality frame, good parameters, poor execution.

I bought this bike because I wanted a reputable manufacturer to meet the needs of my growing son. I've built several bikes from bare parts and serviced many others. Raleigh truly builds a quality frame with options essential for the youngest kids venturing into more challenging terrain. I chose this bike because of the brakes. I checked local bike shops before buying but there was nothing else with front and rear handbrakes and a mountain bike friendly geometry. That's what this bike offers…

Great bike, needs tuning

Bought this bike for my 41" 4 year old who has outgrown his 12" starter bike. The color is more yellow than green, but still looks good. Assembly was very easy despite Raleigh's best efforts. I understood all the basic steps without having any bike maintenance experience. Just about an hour, I'll take my time. It comes with an "assembly guide" which isn't very extensive and only covers adult bikes - you'll have to read between the lines to fit it to this bike. It's pretty easy to understand…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Precise assembly of children's bikes

I am a keen cyclist and a former mechanic in a bike shop. I do all my bike repairs myself. We bought our 7 year old son a 20" screen for his birthday. I think he will be able to ride it until he is 9. The seating position is a bit "old school" than the modern "long, low and loose". That means his weight is shifted a little more forward than I'd like, but that's probably not as important for this age group. That puts him in an offensive position that he enjoys but also gets into trouble easily…

AMAZING value for kids bikes and accessories

This bike is amazing value and if it's within your budget for your child and you want to step up to significantly higher quality without significantly higher price then this is the ultimate sweet spot of mine opinion. This is a HUGE step up from Walmart/Target/Dicks bikes, and despite what several LBS owners here are claiming (maybe some sort of margin bias?), a friend with his own LBS confirmed that this bike is an excellent value On par with what it is selling. I've benchmarked this against…
