NO NO Rancho!: Replacement Parts

Rancho MUST make good products. I bought 4 Rancho shocks for my jeep. (2 #5128, 2 #5407) 3 were faulty. as in ZERO resistance defect. My mechanic didn't install them, although the Rancho CS rep said they were fine. Ordered 4 replacements - 1 was gone, another left. I returned everything and received KYB immediately. at a lower cost. DO NOT RECOMMEND RANCHO products unless they work together.

Jeep Cherokee Installation

I bought the Rancho because of its reputation for off-road and quality cars. They didn't seem to have the pressure I was expecting from a new shock. The rubber sleeve from the factory is also not installed. Good luck looping it around the end without piercing it. Also, my original equipment had a rubber boot on the bottom of the shock but on the top. Thus the rubber is a few centimeters away from the exhaust pipe.

Inexpensive off-road and highway damper.

The best off-road and highway shocks on my XJ make it that much nicer, it doesn't feel like a fish in water over bumps and handles very well in mud and snow. If you don't drive your car in the mud, this shock absorber is not for you. Stick with Bilstein when towing, diving or driving a sports car to drive a truck and don't use it as a truck. For those wondering, this comes as a shock. So when you order please also update the quantity to 2.
