Rancho RS999265 Shocks

I have a Chevy Avalanche Z71 and I love having these shocks for Hwy and 4x4. I'm buying a rear set next month! Then the remote! I immediately felt a big difference!

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Great hits for my truck.

These are the front shock absorbers for my 2000 Silverado. Compliance was 99%. It was about 1 inch shorter so I had to use a jack to raise the hanger so the top nut would reach the threads. My guess is that at the most extreme suspension sag the shock will be "maximum". These dampers have settings from 1 (softest) to 9 (hardest). Setting it to "3" seems to match the standard ride - it absorbs bumps well, while handling is quite good.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • doubtful

I was very disappointed to see that even at the hardest setting

With the wide adjustment range advertised, I expected to be able to set these dampers either too soft or too hard and find the ideal setting somewhere in the middle. When I received them I was very disappointed to see that even under the most severe conditions these shocks were about the same as the overly soft Belltech Street Performance shocks I already had on the truck and was trying to replace. The settings range from too soft to VERY soft. Returned.

  • Certified
Cons
  • Nothing here

Bad shocks replaced with good parts

A good set of front shocks made a difference when running empty. I don't know if the ranch is worth the money I paid. Traction performance was degraded by installing Rancho 9000 rear wheels in place of a good set of GM OEM shocks on my 2000 '2000 Yukon XL.21 boat on a tandem axle trailer with 11% tongue weight, resulting in a significant one even with the shocks adjusted Sag leads to "9". The trailer's spare wheel is now within 2 inches of the ground. Installed a set of Air Lift 1000 rear air…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Beware of the sock pressure

I bought this product in September, a pair for my avalanche 03, when I installed it I pressed it to the end to see how they return again and one of them slower another returned. I THOUGHT I SHOULD INSTALL THEM AND CHOOSE THE SETUP SO YOU CAN FEEL THE SAME. SINCE SEPTEMBER I FELT UNSTABLE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED SO I THOUGHT THAT I SHOULD BUY REAR NOW SO THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE SAME FORWARD AND REVERSE SHOCK ABSORBER BECAUSE THE CORRECT ONE (THE ONE WITH LESS PRESSURE) SHOULD BE REPLACED…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Incredible price

Maybe the second time is a spell?

The turnaround time for this review request is amazing. About three weeks ago I mounted two shock absorbers on the front wheels. Driving today, I hit a speed bump at low speed and noticed the front of my truck behaving erratically and abruptly. When I stopped to check, I noticed that one of the dampers was squinting. I slowly drove the rest of the way home and noticed that there was no compression on the affected side of the suspension. When I jacked up my truck and removed the shock absorber…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Band
