Received this alternative to replace my smoked alternative in my 86 Mercruiser 5.7L V-belt. It was exactly what I needed and I had no problems with it.

Perfect replacement for my factory Mercruiser alternator. acceptable price. This is the second purchase of this product. (Two engines were replaced - both got new alternators.)

Excellent product. I bought one from another company, it didn't supply the correct voltage, returned it and bought this one. This generator works great and I have no problems with it!

I was glad they included the necessary bolts as mine is outdated. It's a little unclear in the instructions what type you should replace, but it's pretty easy to change and works great.

does NOT match the picture or the description. My original alternator was literally on fire with smoke and flames and excitement so I don't have numbers to reference. Went only on the pictures and a weak description. The wiring is completely different, it's a V-ribbed belt. wasted my time It doesn't take long to load the right images.

Replaced a 30 year old alternator on our Cobalt. All the mounting posts were in the right place and the wire colors and connectors matched the old ones, making installation easier. We had to replace the pulley (came with a spool, we have a V-belt) but that's no big deal and doesn't affect the operation of the generator.

My kit did NOT include the V-belt pulley I wanted (as pictured). It came with a serpentine reel so right out of the box I had to change reels as I was in a hurry and didn't have time to mess with the return. Luckily I was able to do this and everything worked out fine. So far it's working like a champ and is a good replacement save for a pulley accident. Installed on 96 Mercruiser 4.3 6 cylinders.

Pros: - Great product - Seems to be a solid assembly Cons: - No installation documentation; Lab test results only - the case was about 1/32 inch thick at the top, but could be adjusted with a hammer.
