Enhance Control and Comfort with RC Pets Martingale Training Dog Collar Review

I've tried several collars and THIS one is worth keeping. It combines all my favorite features: martingale learning style, extra D-ring to attach an ID tag, D-rings to attach the martingale chain, cute pattern, strong collar band that is not very thin even in size XS. My pup is 9 inches in the throat. I bought size XS. He sits great. If necessary, I will enlarge her when she grows up. Like it a lot!

This collar fits my 14lb Bichon puppy and helps him pull well. However, after a few months, I noticed that the chain was wearing out, leaving a gray coating on the neck of my little white fuzz. I confirmed it was because of this collar as I took care of it and the same gray color rubbed off again within 2 days. Unfortunately I can't look anywhere in the list to see if the chain is stainless steel or not. I'm really upset because the collar fits and works so well on him.

I like this collar, this style, this brand. It goes very well with my 10 pound mini dachshunds. I have no problem with the chain turning her long hair gray or pulling her hair. If you adjust the collar correctly, the dog's jaw will not catch in the chain. Again, if you adjust the collar properly, it will not chafe your pet's skin (causing a rash or balding). Highly recommended. I have 5 of these martingale collars. I hand wash and dry about once a month.

This collar is very well made and looks exactly like the photo. The size is accurate too. Got this for my super playful Aussie puppy who is starting training this week. If, like me, this is your first time using a martingale collar, remember that there is a right way and a wrong way to put it on. These very cute collars do the job perfectly. As long as you provide a good fit (behind the ears) they are a great tool for teaching your dog to walk on a leash. I highly recommend doing some research on using martingale collars as a training tool before purchasing this collar as if used incorrectly it can teach the dog bad leash behavior (ignoring the leash pressure) and can even harm the dog (any slippery leash, barbs or martingale collar has potential). The review here says it's a lot better than chain collars considering they are thicker and don't "choke" the dog. This was my choice for my 100 lb wolfhound mix.
